France has become the #1 tourist destination in the
world and the demand for this country is exploding.
So much so, we are adding two new France
tours for 2016. The fi rst tour I am working
on is a Rhone River Cruise. This is
the fastest growing river cruise in
Europe. Travelers will cruise to the
villages and cities of Provence and on
to the city of Lyon. As a special bonus,
this tour will include a couple of nights
in the stunning region of Burgundy.
The other tour I am creating is an Explorations tour that
will include the regions of Bordeaux and
Provence. This small group tour will
immerse travelers in the true spirit of
France. They will spend time in many
small villages that are frozen in time.
They will get to know the people of
the countryside, learn about their
traditions, and savor the world-
renowned cuisine and wine. This tour is
poised to be the best of the best
of France.

The requests for a land tour of Alaska have been pouring in for a couple
years now. As a result, I am working on compiling a land-only tour
that we hope will be in the market for 2016. This is the perfect time to
create this tour for those travelers who will truly want to get to know the
heart and soul of Alaska. This tour is particularly ideal for groups who
have already taken a cruise and want to see more of the out-of-the-way
places, or for those who prefer not to cruise.
Canada’s Province of Quebec has so much to offer, and for 2016 I
really wanted to bring its treasures to light. I am working on a tour that
will stay at many of the luxurious Fairmont properties throughout the
province, including the world-renowned Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.
This tour is perfect for those travelers who have done the Canadian
Rockies by Train tour and would like to now experience Quebec’s epic
mountains and iconic hotels. This luxurious experience is sure to please
even the most seasoned traveler.
There is also some exciting news for the east coast of Canada. Last year we
launched a Newfoundland tour, which has generated a large amount
of interest. However, we felt it was missing an important part of the
region – Labrador. As a result, I am excited to be in the process of
adding Labrador and reworking the fl ow of our existing Newfoundland
program. We feel that this updated and more comprehensive experience
will be even more attractive to group travelers.

Perhaps the biggest demand I have seen in my territory is for the Pacifi c
Northwest. Every year it is growing up to 30% over the last. Seattle in
particular is simply booming. I am adding a tour to this region that will
include Seattle and feature the spectacular San Juan Islands. These
breathtaking islands are a hot spot for travelers, and we are excited to
include them in one of our guided travel programs. We project that this
tour will be in high demand right out of the gate.

innsbruckFor the 2016 season, I am bringing back
an old favorite – a single-hotel stay
in Innsbruck, Austria during the
holiday season. It is named Magical
Christmas Markets. Our European holiday
programs are in high demand and it
is time to add another option. It is an
active 5-night tour that brings travelers
to Germany and Austria. This tour is
perfect for those who want a shorter trip,
but still want to get out in the region to
see and do a lot.
Golden Roof Christmas Market, Innsbruck
River cruises are doing very well for us. We fi nd travelers like the
convenience of unpacking once and enjoying this unique way of seeing
the countryside. The Rhine River is the #1 river to cruise in Europe
right now and our program has been booming. This is why I decided
to alter our tour to make it cruise-only. In addition, we switched ships.
In 2016, this tour will be on Lüftner cruises. This is the cruise
line we use on most of our river cruise tours in Europe and they are
simply fantastic. Our travelers love the service they provide and all the
inclusions they offer. Travelers will be more pleased than ever on our
Rhine River cruise in 2016.

America’s Northeast has many lures, but perhaps its greatest appeal is its rich history.
One of the reasons people travel there is to immerse themselves in a bygone era,
and the perfect way to do that is by staying at its iconic hotels that are
scattered throughout the region. When reviewing our product line, I felt we
were missing this aspect and decided it was time to add two new programs
that feature some of these world-renowned properties. Travelers will stay
in properties where the rich and famous have vacationed for centuries
while getting to know all of the charms of the Northeast.

For decades, Britons have been choosing trains over cars for traveling between
cities. Now, trains are becoming increasingly popular for travelers as a great
way to get from point A to point B. That is why I have decided to add a
tour to the UK that uses their effi cient train system. It is the
perfect opportunity for travelers to relax and see the British countryside
in a way you can’t from the motorways. This tour will visit all of the
UK’s most iconic cities – London, York, and Edinburgh. As an added
bonus, trains are notoriously quicker, which means groups will have
extended time in each city to explore and spend less time in transit.

Over the last few years, I have been looking to expand
our Africa tour options, and for 2016, Morocco is the
perfect choice. Morocco is very different than our other
African options because of its colorful culture, its history
of ancient civilizations, and its famous cities including
Casablanca and Marrakech. In addition, travelers
have always been fascinated with the Sahara Desert,
and this tour will give them an overnight-in-the-desert
experience. This is a unique and exciting way to visit the
African continent.
By popular demand for 2016, I am adding a tour to our
lineup that blends two of the world’s richest cities, Dubai
and Abu Dhabi, with a more traditional Middle
Eastern experience in the country of Oman. You will be
surrounded by opulence beyond belief in these fairy-tale
cities as you explore the fascinating culture and traditions
of the Emirati people. Then, in Oman, get to know a
different side to the region and feel like you have stepped
back centuries. The goal of the tour is for travelers to get
an all-encompassing Middle Eastern experience.

icelandIceland, known as the “land of fi re and
ice,” is an emerging destination that
is only a short 4½-hour fl ight from the
east coast. Currently, we have a summer
program that has been growing year over
year, but we have been hearing more and
more from travelers that they want to
experience the beauty of the Northern
Lights (aurora borealis). For many, it is
a bucket-list item, and we did not want
to pass up the opportunity to provide
this experience to our travelers. We are
excited to begin our winter tour to
Iceland in winter 2016.

Travel to Spain and Portugal is surging for us, which makes this the
perfect time to add two new tours to the region. We have found over the
years that tours that only feature 3 cities and overnight for 2 or 3 nights
in each is a formula for success. Therefore, I have decided to bring that
formula to Lisbon, Seville and Madrid. I believe these three epic
cities explored at a leisurely pace with the perfect balance of must-see’s,
cultural experiences and free time is sure to be a hit.
Alternatively, I am adding a comprehensive small group tour that delves
into the culture, cuisine and history of Northern Spain and Portugal.
This type of tour will be an exceptional addition to our collection in
the area. I will be including some interesting cities such as Bilbao and
Santiago de Compostela while weaving in overnights staying in
historic accommodations, pousadas in Portugal and paradores
in Spain. These small historic hotels add a unique layer of charm to the
tour. Groups will love this incredible way to see Spain and Portugal.

It was my task to fi nd a new and unique area of Italy to add to our collection. The
region of Piedmont has always been one of my favorites, but it particularly
caught my attention this year because UNESCO gave its wine region the
honor of naming it a World Heritage site. And I can see why. The endless
rolling hills covered with vineyards are simply breathtaking. This region
is relatively unknown to the U.S. market, but is becoming increasingly
popular year over year. It is quintessential Italy and home to some of the
best locally grown cuisine. The internationally recognized “slow food
movement” is actually headquartered here. So, fast food – no way, not
here! On this tour, travelers will savor all the charms of Piedmont, Italy,
while being immersed in the magic of the roads less traveled.
