WIh aiaaft, drift can be lessened by applying a coarse spray; by using a spray boom no longer than 31. the rotor 1engIh; by spraying only when wind velocities ant low; or by using an approved drift control system. Keep operating spray pressures at the lower end of the manufacturer's recommended pressures for the specifIC nozzle type used. Low pressure nozzles are available from spray ec:-.Jipment manufacturelS. Select nozzles and pressures which provide adequate plant coverage, but minimize the productiOn of 1~"!A <':-ray patlicl8s.

) Ground Equipment: To did in reducing spray drift potential when making ground applications near susceptible crops or other desira AI broacII8a1 plants, Garton .. should be applied through large droplet proQJcing equipment, such as the Radiarc Sprayer or In thickened spray mixtures using Nalco·TroI or Arborchem 38F (not Qlrrently registered in California) drift control additive, or will high visct'sily invert systems such as may be Iorm8d will rvOD or 'rlSko-Rhap RTU inverting oils. When using a spray thickening or inverting additive, fGlow aM use directiOns and precautlofll on the product label. With ground equipment, spray drift can be recIuc8d by keeping the spray boom as low as possi)I8; by applying 20 gaIons or more of spray per acre; and by spraying when wind velocity is low. Do not ~ with nozzles that produce a fine droplet spray. Keep operating spray pressures at the lower end of the manufacture"s recommended pressures for tl19 specific nozzle type used. Low pressure nozzles are available from spray equipment marlIfacturers. Select nozzles and pressures which provide adequate plant coverage, but minimize the prodllctlon of fine spray particles.

High Volume lillI-Stem Treatment: To mlrimlze spray drift, keep sprays no higher than brush tops and keep spray pressures low enough to provide coarse spray droplets. Nalco-Trol or Arborchem 38F thickening agent or equivalent may be used to reWc:e spray drIt.
