The gap between new orders and inventories widened which could mean higher production numbers in the early months of 2014, further strengthening the manufacturing sector of the economy. Masonry cement consumption jumped 13.8% in October from 2012 and 13.8% month-over-month. It was also up 8.0% year-to-date compared to October of last year. The ISM manufacturing index fell to 57.0 in December from 57.3 the month prior.
