I try to volunteer my time to spread awareness about EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa), the rare skin condition I have. What is EB? EB is a rare genetic skin condition that people are born with where their body does not make enough collagen to keep the layers of skin bonded together; therefore, causing them to have skin as delicate as butterfly wings and prone to blistering, tearing, scarring the top layer of all mucous membranes both internally and externally from any friction applied to the top layer. I am writing you today to inform you of the non profit organization United Survivors with EB (USeb) I volunteer for as the Secretary, Board Member, and local Fundraiser. What is USeb exactly? USeb is a non profit created and managed by people with EB, for people with EB, to educate and support them in their goals in becoming self reliant. I’m currently a part time student right now at Kutztown University majoring in the Bachelors of Fine Arts, Concentration in Photography. I already have my Associates Degree, and I am starting up my Photography business while in school which is called F8te Films. I am working with a local music recording studio, MB Productions, to not only promote my business (F8te Films) and skills, but also recruit potential sponsors for my non profit, USeb. Since, we are an official non profit anything donated is one hundred percent tax deductible, since we are registered and recognized by the government as such. I provide all Sponsors with the EIN number for that at the time of donation. Usually Sponsors get free promotional incentives such as: high definition photo and video for their business/ company, created by me of the event they decide to sponsor, or their product they decide to donate, along with free/ lowcost products from F8te Films. Currently, we are doing our 5th Annual National Fundraiser, which is the Magic of Macy*s Shop for a Cause (USeb). I have been able to raise a total of $600 dollars this year, thus far, by giving away free incentives Address: 719 Plymouth Street Allentown PA 18109 T: 484 860 7999 Email: [email protected]

To whom it may concern,

My name is Vanessa Leinert, and I have volunteered my time at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in pediatrics andworked with Dr. Soro, along with other past dermatology residents to further educate the medical staff notonly at Advance Derm but at a Dermatology Conferences. I try to volunteer my time to spread awarenessabout EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa), the rare skin condition I have. What is EB? I am writing you today to inform you of the non profit organization UnitedSurvivors with EB (USeb) I volunteer for as the Secretary, Board Member, and local Fundraiser.

What is USeb exactly? USeb is a non profit created and managed by people with EB, for people with EB,to educate and support them in their goals in becoming self reliant. I’m currently a part time student rightnow at Kutztown University majoring in the Bachelors of Fine Arts, Concentration in Photography. provided to USeb by some of our local sponsors and by participating in this years Musikfest event, whichwas held in Bethlehem PA from August 2nd Augst 11th. The day of the Macy*s Shop For a Cause (USeb)we will have live in store performances brought to you by our sponsors at the Lehigh Valley Mall storelocation. At the end of the event we will be doing multiple drawings for all our local donators to show ourappreciation and giving away free giftcards from all of our sponsors. Some of the give aways we areproviding is a Red Card Membership from MB Production valued at $200 dollars, a $50 Gift Cards to F8teFilms, Sands Event Center Concert tickets, and many more.

I am writing to you today to request that either you individually or your business/ company teams up insome way to either donate or become a future, continuous, Sponsor for USeb. My first request is that youwould donate and match my total funds raised through the Macy*s Shop for a Cause (USeb) event whichends August 24th 2013. If you cannot donate/ match, the total funds raised, then perhaps at least matchsome portion of the funds raised. An example of an alternative donation could be half or a fourth dependingon what you can currently afford right now.

Why should you support United Survivors with EB? The EB community has Debra, a great non profit, dedicated to researching cures for EB, financially supporting families who are just starting out and who don’thave insurance or can’t afford bandages. They help provide families with the info about wound care, the bestmedical supplies, treatments, available, and working with insurances, medical suppliers, to get the coveragethey need. This condition is very life threatening and most people with it do not get to live and reach adulthood. As we are seeing major improvements through research and new medical technological discoverieswe are learning that it is totally one hundred percent possible for EB patients to not only reach adulthood, but pursue their dreams.

Most of those dreams are to just live a normal life, with normal goals, we all at times can take for granted. Some of those dreams can be goals such as going to college, pursuing a career we are passionate about, being independent by either driving or living on their own, and lastly starting a family. The Board Members, and most of our officers, at United Survivors with EB not only are living with EB but are amazing role modelswho not only fight to support our fellow Survivors, but strive to set an example to all their EB friends. We notonly educate and inspire each other, but we also practice what we preach. So I ask that you take aninterest in US because we not only strive to raise awareness, but we also strive to help all involved.

Thank You for your time and consideration,

Vanessa Leinertwww.ebsurvivors.org
