Scopia Mobile iOS User Guide

Connecting to a VIA3 Unity™ room through the Scopia Mobile app is as easy as Install, Setup, and Join!

System Requirements Minimum CPU requirements: ARM v7 Processor Minimum OS requirements: iOS 5.0 Works with most iOS devices, including iPhones and iPads.

Download and Install

• Download and install the Scopia Mobile v3 app from the Apple App store. • Tap the SCOPIA Mobile icon to start the application.

Connecting to a VIA3 Unity™ room

Setup Setup your iOS mobile device to communicate with the VIA3 Unity™ server. When you first launch Scopia Mobile, you will see the following screen:

• Enter scopia.hsvideo.net as the SCOPIA Desktop Server • Skip the Login Credentials (if you are only Participating) • Click Done to continue

Options Click the cogwheel icon from the home screen to determine default settings like video resolution, or enabling the microphone and camera automatically.

Field Description Server Address Enter the VIA3 Unity™ Server address:

• scopia.hsvideo.net

Login Credentials (optional)

Enter your Scopia Mobile username and password.

Mute Microphone Join your videoconference with a muted microphone (for example, to ensure privacy).

Block Camera Join your videoconference with a disabled camera (for example, to ensure privacy).

Demo Mode (not avail. on Android)

Activate the demonstration mode to learn about the application. You do not need valid credentials to connect to Scopia Mobile. De-activate this mode after becoming acquainted with the application.

Presentation Only When enabled, your presentation is displayed when you join the videoconference.

Video Profile Select the maximum bitrate to maximize the quality and frame rate of the presentation data. Note that your administrator might have configured your mobile device lower than the one you select.

• Low Definition sets the maximum bitrate to 256Kbps. • Standard Definition sets the maximum bitrate to 384Kbps. • Enhanced Definition sets the maximum bitrate to 512Kbps. • High Definition sets the maximum bitrate to 512Kbps for uploading data and to

768Kbps for downloading.

Custom Rates Select your preferred maximum bitrate. You can configure this field if you enabled it in the Video Profile field.

Show Call Statistics When enabled, you can access network statistics which are useful for customer support.

Joining a meeting room To join a meeting, enter the meeting ID number of the room you were invited to and tap Connect.

Exiting a meeting room From iOS phone-sized devices, tap anywhere in the videoconference view and then tap . From iPad, tap Disconnect in the videoconference view.

Scopia Mobile | Functionality

Conference view Press on the “Conference” tab to participate in the conference and view all attendee videos.

Video (Camera on your device)

If necessary, you can choose a different camera to provide your video input or disable your camera by clicking on the Camera icon.

Microphone

Mute or unmute your microphone by clicking on the Microphone icon.

Inviting a Participant As a moderator, you can invite a new participant (mobile or standard) to join an on-going videoconference.

• While in a videoconference, tap Participants . • The, tap the “Invite” button

Invite by Corporate Directory

Invite by IP Address, E.164, H.323 or SIP URL

• Tap Directory • Select the participant listed in the directory • If the participant is not displayed in the window, alter

your search by entering the partial or complete participant's name.

Note: The screen icon in the address book indicates the participant has an endpoint.

• Tap By Address • Tap the address using the virtual keyboard • Invite the participant

Presentation view When a participant is presenting in a meeting, the presentation will start and is stored as slides automatically. Mobile app users need to click on the “Presentation” tab to access the Presentation screen. Saved slides will show at the bottom part in presentation mode.

If you are viewing a presentation, tap Conference to view the participants and access conferencing functions. Or, when using an iOS phone-sized device, tap the presentation with two fingers to switch to conference view.

Recommended
