Care & Cleaning• Beforeyouliftorrepositionyourmonitor,itisbettertodisconnectthecables

and power cord. Follow the correct lifting techniques when positioning the monitor.Whenliftingorcarryingthemonitor,grasptheedgesofthemonitor.Donotliftthedisplaybythestandorthecord.

• Cleaning.Turnyourmonitoroffandunplugthepowercord.Cleanthemonitorsurfacewithalint-free,non-abrasivecloth.Stubbornstainsmayberemovedwith a cloth dampened with mild cleaner.

• Avoidusingacleanercontainingalcoholoracetone.UseacleanerintendedforusewiththeLCD.Neverspraycleanerdirectlyonthescreen,asitmaydripinside the monitor and cause an electric shock.

The following symptoms are normal with the monitor:• Thescreenmayflickerduringtheinitialuseduetothenatureofthefluorescent

light. Turn off the Power Switch and turn it on again to make sure that the flicker disappears.

• Youmayfindslightlyunevenbrightnessonthescreendependingonthedesktoppatternyouuse.

• Whenthesameimageisdisplayedforhours,anafterimageofthepreviousscreenmayremainafterswitchingtheimage.ThescreenwillrecoverslowlyoryoucanturnoffthePowerSwitchforhours.

• Whenthescreenbecomesblackorflashes,orcannotworkanymore,contactyourdealerorservicecentertofixit.Donotrepairthescreenbyyourself!

2.1 Detaching the arm/stand (for VESA wall mount)

ThedetachablestandoftheVE278SeriesLCDmonitorisspeciallydesignedforVESAwallmount.

To detach the arm/stand:1. Disconnectpowerandsignalcables.Carefullyput the front of the monitor

face down on a clean table.

2. Useascrewdrivertoremovethe two screws that secure the stand to the monitor.

3. Detach the stand from the monitor.

• Werecommendthatyoucoverthetablesurfacewithsoftclothtopreventdamage to the monitor.

• Holdthestandofthemonitorwhileremovingthescrews.

• TheVESAwallmountkit(100x100mm)ispurchasedseparately.

• UseonlytheULListedWallMountBracketwithminimumweight/load24.4kg(Screwsize:4x10mm).

Phaseadjuststhephaseofthepixelclocksignal.Withawrongphaseadjustment,thescreenshowshorizontaldisturbances.

Clock(pixelfrequency)controlsthenumberofpixelsscannedbyonehorizontalsweep.Ifthefrequencyisnotcorrect,thescreenshowsverticalstripesandtheimage is not proportional.

3.3 Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Problem Possible Solution

PowerLEDisnotON • Press the button to check if the monitor is in the ONmode.

• Checkifthepowercordisproperlyconnectedtothemonitor and the power outlet.

The power LED lights amber and there is no screen image

• Check if the monitor and the computer are in the ONmode.

• Makesurethesignalcableisproperlyconnectedthe monitor and the computer.

• Inspect the signal cable and make sure none of the pins are bent.

• Connect the computer with another available monitortocheckifthecomputerisproperlyworking.

Screen image is too light or dark • Adjust the Contrast and Brightness settings via OSD.

Screen image is not centered or sizedproperly

• Press the button for two seconds to automaticallyadjusttheimage.

• AdjusttheH-PositionorV-PositionsettingsviaOSD.

Screen image bounces or a wave pattern is present in the image

• Makesurethesignalcableisproperlyconnectedtothe monitor and the computer.

• Moveelectricaldevicesthatmaycauseelectricalinterference.

Screen image has color defects (whitedoesnotlookwhite)

• Inspect the signal cable and make sure that none of the pins are bent.
