This manual is only for operation instruction, please contact the local distributor for maintenance assistance. The functions described in this version were updated till December 8, 2017. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS To insure the best from the product, please read all instructions carefully before using the device. Save this manual for further reference. Unpack the equipment carefully and save the original box and packing material for
possible future shipment. Follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury
to persons. Do not dismantle the housing or modify the module. It may result in electrical shock
or burn. Using supplies or parts not meeting the specifications of product may cause damage,
deterioration or malfunction. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain, moisture or install this
product near water. Do not put any heavy items on the extension cable in case of extrusion. Do not remove the housing of the device as opening or removing housing may
expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Install the device in a place with fine ventilation to avoid damage caused by
overheat. Keep the module away from liquids. Spillage into the housing may result in fire, electrical shock, or equipment damage. If
an object or liquid falls or spills on to the housing, unplug the module immediately. Do not twist or pull by force ends of the optical cable. It can cause malfunction. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners to clean this unit. Always unplug the power to
the device before cleaning. Unplug the power cord when left unused for a long period of time. Information on disposal for scrapped devices: do not burn or mix with general
household waste, and please treat them as normal electrical wastes.

1. Introduction 1.1 Introduction to CVHDSDI-6G
Thanks for purchasing this CVHDSDI-6G 4K HDMI to 6G SDI converter! This converter is designed to convert 4K@30Hz 4:4:4 (max) HDMI video input to two 3840x2160@30Hz 4:2:2 (max) SDI outputs. It supports balanced L/R analog audio or ASE/EBU audio input to embed SDI video outputs, and these audio inputs volume can be selected to control via AUDIO button on top panel. The converter features 8-pin DIP switch to select built-in EDID for HDMI input, lock or unlock buttons, and choose HDMI embedded audio, external balanced analog audio or ASE/EBU audio as input source. 1.2 Features
HDMI input resolution is up to 4K@30Hz 4:4:4, and two SDI outputs resolution up to 3840x2160@30Hz.
SDI outputs support SD/HD/3G-SDI/6G-SDI. Supports balanced L/R analog audio or AES/EBU audio input. Supports firmware updating. DIP switch can be used for built-in EDID invoking, buttons locking or unlocking
and audio input switching. Fully compliant with the HDMI 1.4 and HDCP2.2 specifications.

3. Panel Description 3.1 Front Panel
① HDMI IN: HDMI® port for connecting the HDMI source device. ② AUDIO LED: The LED illuminates blue when external audio is selected as audio
input source. ③ L-ANALOG or AES/EBU: TRS audio socket for balanced left channel analog audio
or AES/EBU digital audio input. ④ R-ANALOG: TRS audio socket for balanced right channel analog audio input. 3.2 Rear Panel
① DC 12V: DC barrel connector for AC power adapter. ② POWER LED: The LED illuminates red when power is on. ③ SDI OUTPUTS: BNC connectors for connecting SDI video displays. ④ HDMI LED: The LED illuminates blue when this device detects HDMI input signal. ⑤ FW: Micro USB port for performing firmware updates.

3.3 Side Panel
① 8-pin DIP switch: 8 DIP switches for built-in EDID invoking, buttons locking or
unlocking and audio input switching. When in the down (1) position, the switch represents “ON”, while putting the switch in the up (0) position represents “OFF”.
Note: The DIP switches status and its corresponding setting can find at the chapter of Switches Operation.

① AUDIO: Press the button repeatedly to cycle select the input audio needed to be control. These three blue LEDs has four status:
AES/EBU L R Description
Status 1 ON OFF OFF Select the AES/EBU digital audio.
Status 2 OFF ON OFF Select the balanced left channel analog audio.
Status 3 OFF OFF ON Select the balanced right channel analog audio.
Status 4 OFF ON ON Simultaneously select the balanced left and right channel analog audio.
② VOLUME: Press the up or down direction button to increase or decrease the
selected input audio. ③ MUTE: Press this to mute or unmute all audio.

4. System Connection 4.1 Usage Precaution
Verify all components and accessories included before installation. System should be installed in a clean environment with proper temperature and
humidity. All of the power switches, plugs, sockets, and power cords should be insulated and
safe. All devices should be connected before power on. 4.2 System Diagram

5. Switches Operation The 8 DIP switches on side panel provide the following settings: The DIP switch status and its corresponding settings are shown at the back of product.
5.1 Built-in EDID Invoking
The Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) is used by the source device to match its video resolution with that of the connected display. Since displays with different capabilities can be connected to the converter, the EDID DIP switch 1 and 2 can be used to set the EDID information that is passed to the source devices.
Force to UHD (4K@30Hz 4:2:2) – Switch 1 to “ON”, Switch 2 to “OFF” If the HDMI source is capable of outputting 4K@30Hz 4:2:2, the converter will instruct

the source to output 4K@30Hz 4:2:2 video. Force to HD (1080I@30Hz) – Switch 1 to OFF, Switch 2 to “ON” If the HDMI source is capable of outputting 1080I@30Hz, the converter will instruct the source to output 1080I@30Hz video. AUTO – Switch 1 to “OFF”, Switch 2 to “OFF” The convert will automatically allocate an optimum resolution with current source equipment based on its output capabilities. 5.2 Buttons Locking/Unlocking
Switch 6- Lock/unlock buttons Put switch 6 in “ON” to lock buttons on top panel, or to “OFF” for unlocking. 5.3 Audio Input Switching
Switch 7- Embedded HDMI Audio – Input Audio Put switch 7 in “OFF” to select embedded HDMI audio, or to “ON” for external balanced analog or AES/EBU audio input. Switch 8- Analog Audio, AES/EBU Audio Before using switch 8, the switch 7 must be set to “ON”. Put switch 8 in “OFF” to select balanced analog audio, or to “ON” for digital AES/EBU audio input.

7. Troubleshooting & Maintenance
Problems Potential Causes Solutions
Output image with snowflake.
Bad quality of the connecting cable.
Try another high-quality cable.
Fail or loose connection. Make sure the connection is good.
No output image when switching.
No signal at the input / output end.
Check with oscilloscope or multimeter if there is any signal at the input/ output end.
Fail or loose connection. Make sure the connection is good.
The product is broken. Send it to authorized dealer for repairing.
POWER indicator doesn’t work or no respond to any operation.
Fail connection of power cord.
Make sure the power cord connection is good.
Cannot control the device by buttons.
The front panel buttons are locked.
Put switch 6 in “OFF” to lock buttons.

model of the product for repairing or had been altered. Damage caused by force majeure. Servicing not authorized by distributor. Any other causes which does not relate to a product defect.
