INTRODUCTION
TheprojectwebsitesareintegratedintotheprogrammewebsiteusingGenticsContentMa-nagementSystem(CMS).Thismanualprovidesyouwithstepsandinstructionshowtocreateandedityourprojectwebsite.
Incaseyoucannotfindanswerstoyourquestionsinthismanual,[email protected].
Contentofyourwebsite
Theinitialfewseconddeterminewhetherthevisitorspendsmoretimeonyourwebsiteorleaves.Goodcontentisaprerequisiteforreturningvisitor,sobeforeyoustartbuildingyourwebsitethinkaboutthecontentandmessageyouwanttopassacross.Thewebsiteofferslotofflexibilityandgiveswaytocreativity,soyoucanmakeityourownandwehopethatyoumakemostofit.

Thismanualservesasareferenceguideforworkingwithyourprojectwebsite.Themanualissplitintothreeparts.
Thefirstpart(partA)introducesyoutotheuserprofileandinterface.
Thesecondpart(partB)introducesyoutoworkingwiththeCMSanditsobjectswhicharethecornerstonesofyourwebsitearchitectureanddescribeshowto:

Theuserprofileislocatedatthetoprightcornerofyourbrowserwindow.Youruserrightsareautomaticallylinkedtoyourlogin.Theseareassignedbythesystemadministratoranddefinethepossibleworkingstepsthatyouareallowedtocarryoutinthesystem.Thedisplayofelementsinthenavigationandinthemenuisalsolinkedtotheuserrights.Userrightscanonlybechangedbythesystemadministrator.

AllobjectsintheCMSaredisplayedinlists.Ifyouselectafolderinthenavigationsection,alistofallpages,files,imagesandsubfolderscontainedinthisfolderwillbedisplayed.Inthelistview,youcanquicklyandeasilycarryout[Actions]ononeormoreobjectsinthelist.
B.1Workingwithfolders
Foldersarecontainingcontentlikepages,imagesetc.Foldersserveforclearmanagementofobjectsandareoftenusedasabasisforthewebsitenavigationstructure.
Onceyouloginyouwillseesetofpre-definedfoldersandunderneathyourhomepage.Thissetofpre-definedfoldersistheretomakethenavigationstructureeasier.Werecommendyoutokeepthisstructureandcreateallnewcontentpagesinsidethesefolderstokeepthetoplevelclear.
TIPAttentionmustbepaidto logical consistencyandclaritywhencrea-
tingandnamingfolders.Agoodstructure is the best way toavoidconfusion.

ARCHIVEfolderautomaticallystorespasteventscreatedusingeventpagetemplate,thereisnoneedofanyactionfromyoursidewhenitcomestotheirarchiving.
CONTACTfoldercontainssetofpre-definedsubfolderscorrespondingwiththedifferentrolesofpartner‘sintheproject.
DOCUMENTSfoldershouldserveasarepositoryofallfinaliseddeliverablesoftheproject.
EVENTSfoldershouldbeusedasarepositoryofalleventpages.
IMAGESfoldershouldbeusedasarepositoryofallyourimages.
NEWSfoldershouldbeusedasarepositoryofallyournewspages.
OUTPUT LIBRARY folderfeedsdirectlyintotheprogramme‘soutputlibrary.Moreinformati-ononthefunctionalitywillfollowsoon.
Eachfoldercanhaveanarbitrarynumberofsubfolders.Clickingonthesymbolinfrontofthefoldernameinthenavigationsectionselectsthefolder.Clickingonthenameofthefolderwillopenthefolderandallcontainingcontentwillbedisplayed.

In order to create a new folder click on add folder icon.Thedialoguewindowwillopen.
Hereyoucan:
� Enternameofnewfolder
� Definenameofdirectoryunderwhichallobjectscontainedinthisfolderarestoredonthewebserver.ThiseffectstheURLoftheseobjects(pages,imagesetc.).Ifyoudonotwishtospecifyadirectoryofyourown,simplyleavethisfieldblank.Thenallpagesstoredinthisfolderarepublishedinthesamedirectory

YoucannavigatethroughyourCMSbyusingthepathontopofthepage.Toconfirmtheactionclickon[MOVE]totargetfolder.
NOTEIf you wish to move several folders at the same time, the selected folders can only be moved to the same target folder, not to different folders. When moving folders all links are automatically moved at the same time. This saves you having to link pages, files and images again if the publication directory of the folder should have changed.
B.1.5Deletingfolder
Todeleteafolder,clickonthecontextmenuandthen ormarkthecheckbo-xesofall the foldersyouwant todeleteand thenusethedeletebutton.
NOTEAll objects such as pages, images, files that are in the folder or subfolders including their content will be lost when the folder is deleted. Although the link management of CMS prevents invalid links occurring on the page by deactivating these links, you should ne-vertheless take care not to inadvertently delete objects linked from other pages.
B.1.6Orderofthefolders
ThefoldersintheCMSappearinthealphabeticalorder,thisdoesnothoweverneedtobereflectedsamewayonthefrontend.Ifyouwishtoorganisethefoldersinadifferentorderonthefrontendyouneedtogotocontextmenu andthento .In[ObjectProperties]sectionyoucaninsertthesortordernumberofthefolder.
Forexample,ifyouwantafolder„leadpartner“toappearabovefolder„communicationma-nager“onthefrontend,yougive„leadpartner“foldersortnumber10and„communicationmanager“sortnumber20.

TIPWhen giving folderssortordernumberswerecommend to count
bytens:10,20,30etc.Thiswayyou will avoid re-sorting incase you create extra folderthat youwant to position bet-weenexistingfolders.Youcanthen easily give a new folderforexamplesortnumber15anditwillthenbeplacedautomati-callybetweenexistingfolders.

Pageshelpyoutoprovidemorecontentandinformationandarecomplementingyourhomepage,whichshouldaimtocarryshortteaser infomation.Everypagehasastatuswhichisimportantforediting andpublishing .
Youcanidentifythestatusofthepageinthelistview.
Thepageispublished.
Thepageisstored,butnotpublished.Thispageversionmightbedifferenttothepublishedpageversion.If[EDITED]isinred,thepageislockedforediting,whichmeansthatsomebodyiscurrentlyworkingonthispage.Thispagehasnotbeensavedandcurrentlycannotbeeditedbyanotheruser.

TheeventtemplateisadefaulttemplateoftheEVENTSfolder.Itissimilartothecontentpagetemplatebutitcontainsadditionaleventsettingswhichhelpyoutothoroughlydescribeyourevent.Thisinformationisthenreflectedintheeventcalendarandisalsobasisfortheeventsearchfunction,thereforeitisimportantthatthesefieldsarecompletedwithasmuchinformationaspossible.

NOTEDo not change the start page (home page) of your website as to this page is linked the short url of your website.
Youcanalsoeasilytakethepageofflinebyclickingonthecontextmenuand[TAKEOFF-LINE]command.IfapageistakenofflinefromtheserveritisnolongeraccessibleandonlyexistsintheCMS.Asthesepagescanbepublishedagainatanytime,thisisoftenabettersolutionthandeletingthepage.Relatedpagesandlinkswillalsobechangedandautomati-callydeactivated.

GenticsCMSisusingalohaeditor,whichisanHTML5based„whatyouseeiswhatyouget“editor.Thismeans that youwork directly on the page and not in a form-based dialoguewindow.Thereforeyouseethetextduringeditingalmostexactlyasitwilllookoncepublis-hed.
B.3.1Editingpage
Afterclickingon button,thepageopensintheeditingmodeandyellowrec-tangleshighlighteditableareas.
Whenyouclickintooneofyellowareas,thefloatingformattingtoolbarwillappearandtherectanglewillturnblue.Youcanmovetheformattingtoolbartootherareasonyourscreenbydraggingthetoolbarwiththemouse.Youcanfixitintothisnewpositionbyclickingonthepinatthetoprightcornerofthetoolbar.
Nowyoucanenterallyourcontentorcopyitstraightoutofatexteditor(e.g.MicrosoftWord).Theeditorwillrecognizeformatting(i.e.boldoritalic,headlines,lists,tablesetc.)Butyoucanformatorreformatyourcontentwiththeformattingmenuaswell.Justmarkthetextandchooseoneoftheformattingoptionslike[Paragraph]fornormaltextor[Heading2]to[Heading6]forheadlines.
