JumpandFreezeusingtheoptionalE2RRemoteSwitch
To enable the JUMP and FREEZEfunctionsoftheRemote,poweruptheEcholution2pedalwhileholdingtheENGAGE footswitch.
JUMPmodulatesthedelaylineoneoctaveeachdelaytimebydefault. Inordertoaccessotherintervalsorsetaseconddelayline,seethe‘PitchShifting’section.JUMPcanbetoggledwithouttheremoteswitchaswell(see‘TouchSwitches:DelayTimeRanges’)
FREEZEcreatesaloopoutofthematerialthatispresentinthedelayline.ThiscanbetoggledonandoffbypressingtheFREEZEfootswitch.
WhenFREEZEisactive,theTapfootswitchbecomesLoopRecord.WhenFREEZEisturnedon,pressingtheTAPfootswitchbeginrecordinganewloop.Asecondpress(within10seconds)willclosetheloopandbeginplayback.Tooverdub,turnoffFREEZEtoaddnewmaterialandturnFREEZEbackonwhendone.HittingtheTAPswitchwillclearanycurrentlyloopedaudio.Torecordanewloop,makesureFREEZEisturnedonandthenhittheTAPfootswitch.
Once the JUMP and FREEZEremotefunctionsareenabled,theEcholution2willrememberthispreferenceafteritispowereddown.TodisableJUMP and FREEZE andrestorethepreferenceforinstantpresetaccess,simplypowerpoweruptheEcholution2whileholdingtheENGAGE switch.
JUMPEachdelaytapcanbeassignedadifferentpitchshiftinterval.ThepitchshiftingcanbeturnedonandoffatanypointusingtheremoteswitchJUMPfunctionorviaMIDI.
OnceapitchshiftvaluehasbeenselectedJUMPisautomaticallyenabled,sothatuserswithouttheremoteswitchcanenjoypitchshifteffects.Whenapitchshiftvaluehasbeenselected,theJUMPfunction“latches”andtheJUMPswitchmustpressedagaintoturnthepitchshiftingoff.PitchShiftvaluescanbeassigned,savedandrecalledinanyofthe 60 presets.
E2 REMOTE SWITCH E2 REMOTE SWITCH
Tochangethepitchshiftvalueforthefirstdelaytap,holddownboththeDelayTime (Short/Med/Long)andTapsbuttonsandturnthePresetEncodertoselectthedesiredpitchshiftvalue.AftersimultaneouslypressingDelayTimeandTaps,(whileatleastoneofthemisstillhelddown),the7-segmentdisplaywillshowanumberor“-“.ThisnumberrepresentsthePitchchange,Theintervalsaredisplayedasanumberanddecimalpoint;eachnumberrepresentsacorrespondingscaledegree(5=perfectfifth)withthedecimalpointindicatingwhetherthatintervalisflatted(5.=flatfive).
Thechangethepitchshiftvaluefortheseconddelaytap,holddowntheSpecialFX (Pong/Halo)andTapsbuttonsandturnthepresetencoder.

EveryfunctionoftheEcholution2canbecontrolledviaMIDI.
SETTING THE E2 MIDI CHANNEL:
1. PoweruptheE2whileholdingdownthePRESETrotaryswitch.
2. After the firmware version number has been displayed, a ‘C’ will appear. This indicates that the E2 will enter the MIDI Channel SelectionMenuuponreleaseofthePresetrotaryswitch
3. Once in this menu, the user can see the current MIDI channel and changeit,ifnecessary,byturningthePresetRotarySwitch. *Possible MIDI Channels are 1-16, with tens indicated by an illuminateddecimalpoint,tothelowerrightofthenumber. i.e.9=9,0.=10,1.=11
4. To select a channel, PRESS the Preset rotary switch. The E2 will continue its boot process.
SUPPORTED MIDI COMMANDSToloadaparticularpreset,simplysendaprogramchangecommandwiththedesiredpresetnumber.TheE2willloadthatnumberplusoneasthepreset.ThisisbecausemanyMIDIcontrollerssend“PROGRAM CHANGEx-1”whenyouselectprogramx.ie.Thefootcontrollerwillsend“PROGRAM CHANGE 00”whenyouselectthefootswitchcorrespondingtopreset1.Ifyouwantpreset00,send127astheprogram.

MIDI CLOCK OPTIONSNon-pitchedMIDITracking:TapsteleportwhenanewMIDITempoisreceived.ThenewMIDIclockwillonlyjumpifthechangeintempoisgreaterthan10ms.Thiscanbeswitchedonandoffduringtheboot-upprocessbyholdingtheDelayTimebutton.
