A New Platform for Global Missional

Partnerships.

Hi, I’m John Henry.

Founder & International Associate Director of Youth With A Mission’s

Student Mobilization Centre.

I thought I was breaking the mold.

• As a faith missionary with YWAM, I have facilitated 75 internship teams...

• With students from over 100 universities in 9 countries...

• Integrating their fields of study with service...

• To projects serving the poor in 35 countries.

But our students were mostly from the Western

World.

Page 4: Using Technology to Create Global Missional Partnerships

Here’s what I saw along the way.

• Living in India, I saw young leaders from Nagaland, the Northeast, leading student fellowships all over India.

• I met young Brazilian leaders planting churches in Albania.

• I have worked with hundreds of young Korean leaders engaging university communities in 35 countries.

• In China, I led a workshop for young leaders working with university fellowships representing tens of thousands of new believers on campuses in 6 cities.

• And now, House Church leaders in China are saying they will send one million new missionaries in the next decade or so.

And this new world is FLAT... More connected.

• Nigeria - close to 100 million mobile phone lines.

• Kenya - mobile phone sales increased by more than 200% in 2009.

• Rwanda - mobile phone users grew by 50% in 2010.

• In Africa - 650 million use mobile phones.

• This far surpasses the U.S. and Europe.

Question

How do we better utilize this growing opportunity to share Jesus

Christ and mobilize the new Majority Church of the Global

South?

Saturday, October 12, 13

Page 9: Using Technology to Create Global Missional Partnerships

This question led to many more...

• How can Jesus’ followers foster missional partnerships from anywhere and to everywhere?

• What is the best posture for the Western Church?

• What types of people make up a missional community?

• And how can they be involved now?
