By: Joseph P. Candela
Uses of in the Classroom
• Videos can be used in the classroom for many purposes.
• Some of the purposes are: • 1. Creating a Book Trailer
• 2. Introduction Video
• 3. Teaching when Absent
1. Create a Book Trailer
• As a way for students to summarize information about the plot of a book, they can create a video trailer to detail important points of the book.
2. Introduction Video
• As an instructor create a video detailing your background as an introduction to a new group of students.
3. Teach when absent
• Leave a video for the substitute to play elaborating on the instructions and big ideas for the day.
Earth Dragon Awakes Lesson
• In a literacy unit that focuses on the book the Earth Dragon Awakes, many students need a refresher on the prior knowledge regarding earth quakes.
• Using a brain pop Jr. video students will watch, discuss, and share facts about earthquakes.
• Prior to reading book students will use their knowledge to discuss how an upcoming earth quake will effect the residents of the city.
