TEAMWORK AWARD: Over the past several weeks Trec Reed has been put in the position of helping run the Moving crew by himself. This is normally a two person, full-time job, seeing that all the moves on campus are scheduled and carried out. This added responsibility has meant longer hours and a lot more scheduling and coordinating. While this has definitely been difficult to do, Trec has remained upbeat about the situation and has adjusted his own and his crew’s workload schedules to help facilitate the moves. By stepping in to help out when needed, Trec has truly exemplified what it means to be a team player. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

TEAMWORK AWARD: Kylee Wakley and Jamison Carroll are two individuals from the Events Operations Crew who have really stood out lately. With a very busy weekend of football and basketball games coming up less than a day away, Brandon Hansen received a text saying that one of the employees scheduled long in advance to work both games, was no longer able to do so. Kylee and Jamison were both contacted. Even though each of them had other things planned to do on those days, they came forward to fill in the gaps. This example of sacrificing their personal weekend plans in order to help when needed is nothing new. Both Kylee and Jamison have shown tremendous dedication to being actively involved in the event process from start to finish, even when it is inconvenient or time consuming. They continually demonstrate the mantra of Event Services, which is, “Be the Solution”. Congratulations to Kylee and Jamison on this well-deserved recognition.

STEP-UP AWARD: Dur ing a significant remodel at the BRASC Building, the electrical lines which were serving a major area of the basement were disrupted. Chad Henager and JD Nyman worked tirelessly and quickly to come up with and then implement a solution. They were able to get the power back on in a timely manner and show just how important their professional expertise is when problems like these arise. Thanks to Chad and JD for all they do to keep our campus running smoothly!

Be Careful Out There!

Dear USU Facilities,

I just wanted to say thank you for the beautiful

planter that we received for the memorial service at my

dad’s passing. It was greatly appreciated and meant

more than words can say.

Sincerely,

Larry McCormick and family

PEANUT BUTTER REINDEER COOKIES

3/4 cup peanut butter

1 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup shortening 3 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon vanilla 1 egg

1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 teaspoon salt Chocolate-covered mini pretzels

Mini brown M&Ms Regular-sized red M&Ms

______________________________________________

Preheat oven to 375°F

Combine brown sugar, peanut butter, shortening, milk, and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Add egg; beat until just blended. In a

separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix just until blended.

Form dough into 1-inch balls. To make reindeer-shaped cookies, pinch the bottom of

the ball slightly to form a point, then gently flatten with your hand. Space cookies about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 7 to 8 minutes, until set

or just beginning to brown.

Remove from oven and immediately (and gently) press two mini pretzels into the tops of the cookies for the reindeer's antlers. Press two mini brown M&Ms in for the

eyes and one red M&M for the nose (or any other color... some of mine ended up with green noses. They might be South Pole reindeer.).

Allow to cool 2 minutes on the baking sheet and then transfer to a wire rack or paper

towel to cool completely.

39 Oreos, divided (Orignal NOT Doublestuff. This is one entire 15.5 oz pkg) 1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened

16 oz. vanilla almond bark or candy melts ________________________________________

Set a long sheet of wax paper over a cookie sheet, set aside. Place 36 Oreos in a food processor (entire cookie, DON'T remove cream filling) and pulse until

finely crushed (alternately if you don't own a food processor you can place Oreos in a large Ziploc bag, seal bag and crush with a rolling pin until finely

crushed). Pour crushed Oreos into a mixing bowl along with cream cheese and using a the back of a spoon, stir mixture while pressing it along the bottom of the bowl, until well combine and evenly moistened. Scoop mixture out and form into 1 inch balls (if you happen to have a kitchen scale, the should be about 16 grams each) then align on prepared cookie sheet. Place truffles in

freezer for 10 minutes. Meanwhile crush remaining 3 Oreos.

Melt almond bark according to directions on package. Remove truffles from freezer and dip in melted chocolate and evenly coat then allow excess

chocolate to run off (I barely made it with 16 oz. of the melted bark but you may need a little more). Return to baking sheet, immediately sprinkle tops with

remaining crushed Oreos then allow chocolate to set. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator

for your years of service!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
