Housing – working closely with our housing providers and district councils you will support people to
access Housing Options which will improve their health and wellbeing and maximise their
independence. You will have a good knowledge of complex adaptations and the Disabled Facility grant
process. Supporting people through relocation, advising on new build developments, working on

assistive technology solutions for supported living, influencing changes in policy and practice – the role
is varied and challenging and requires an OT with drive and passion. One of four dedicated posts across
the county our vacancy is based in our Sedgemoor office covering the coastal area of the county.
Health Interface Service – working as part of the multi-disciplinary team based in The Bungalow with
integrated discharge team at Musgrove Park Hospital, you will work with people and their families
discharged from the hospital on a reablement/discharge to assess pathway back to their own home.
Getting people out of hospital and assessed in their own homes instead of on a hospital ward provides
a much better understanding of their abilities and needs. You will be responsible for devising
reablement plans to maximise their independence, setting personalised goals with them, and for the
reablement providers to work on. You will advise on creative solutions and utilise assistive technology
to help people return and remain at home. You will work closely with community and voluntary
organisations, as well as health and social care professionals to provide better outcomes for people.
Community Occupational Therapist - As a strong team player you will be dedicated to supporting
people at home to maximise their independence and live fulfilling lives. Working in the local community
team alongside social care workers you will find creative solutions for a range of client groups. We have
a formal programme of induction and CPD get you up and running in your new post, with ongoing

The Education Safeguarding Service is a newly formed service bringing together education
safeguarding advisors and education safeguarding officers into a single service to support education
providers (0-25) in delivering effective safeguarding and child protection arrangements. This service will
undertake the statutory functions of the Local Authority with respect to attendance and safeguarding.
This new service will also offer advice, support and challenge around safeguarding arrangements and
practices, deliver high quality training and co-ordinate specific safeguarding activities in schools around
the themes of domestic violence, child exploitation, abuse and bullying. It will also monitor and
challenge poor attendance and persistent absence, including issuing penalty notices and other legal
proceedings. While safeguarding will be a key focus, other areas of work for the service will include
child employment, chaperone licences and child entertainment licences.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Access & Additional Learning Needs area of Inclusion
Somerset, on a permanent basis. We are looking for a child-focused candidate to lead and develop a
small central team within the Education Safeguarding Service while undertaking a specific
administrative role relating to the monitoring of the education attendance of children looked after.
This is a varied role, dealing with a wide range of safeguarding support activities, including those
related to school attendance and absence.
About you
For the candidate to be successful in this role, they will require some experience of leading and

We are seeking to appoint three motivated Specialist Autism Support Tutors with successful experience
of supporting children and young people with autism. You will have experience of working with
students with special educational needs and disabilities and a commitment to ensuring students in Park
Road Support Centre achieve good educational and personal outcomes. You will be expected to work
closely with other agencies and form good relationships with parents/carers. You will work under the

AUTISM SUPPORT CENTRE ADMINISTRATOR

character and personality of our students, alongside a relentless drive for improving progress in all of
the subjects that they study. We aim to be GREAT in everything that we do.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and organised administrator who will support the running of
the school’s on-site Autism resource base. The post-holder will support the Base Leader and team of
support staff by ensuring the admin side of running the base effectively. You will have a commitment to
ensuring pupils in The Preston Centre feel welcome and comfortable in the base whilst supporting the
organisation of running the base through scheduling meetings, preparing documents for meetings and
other administrative tasks.
The Preston Centre is currently managed by Somerset Council but there are plans to transfer this to
Preston School imminently. Employment will be undertaken by Preston School from 1st November 2019,
under the proviso that the school takes on the running of the base, which it fully intends to do and is
currently in the process of doing.

deliver homelessness and housing advice services to customers across the district.

For those without the relevant housing options experience, the Trainee Housing Options role is perfect
for a candidate with transferrable skills from other related sectors and disciplines. You will be supported
to become a Housing Options Officer and can look forward to progressing to the higher pay grade
once able to demonstrate competence (typically 6-9 months). The Trainee position is career graded so
you will be required to undertake a course of study via the Chartered Institute of Housing (if not already
completed).
