VACANCY The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) invites applications for the following posts (All posts are purely on contractual basis; revision of emoluments would be subject to performance assessment/ evaluation. The applications on the *prescribed format along with the CV and one recent passport size photograph must reach to The Executive Secretary, The National Academy of Sciences, India,5, Lajpat Rai Road, Allahabad, (U.P.)-211002, India latest by July 25,2016 . After the scrutiny, only the shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview; in case of the candidates working in the Government organizations/Semi Government/Autonomous Bodies under the Government, the application must be forwarded through proper channel): 1. Young Woman Researcher(s) to work under NASI-distinguished Woman Scientist Chair, in the area related to welfare of women in general and the rural women, in particular- Essential qualifications & Experience: M. Sc. degree and minimum two years’ experience in scientific research in an organisation of national repute. The position will be equivalent to JRF/SRF/RA** as per qualification of the selected candidate. Age limit- Between 25- 35 Years as on Aug 01, 2016 The appointment shall be made initially for 2 years subject to performance assessment/ evaluation; the payment will be as per the rules of the Academy/DST, GoI norms. (**Please see the details for JRF/SRF/RA - OM issued by the DST, New Delhi, Govt. of India, dated October 21, 2014). 2. NASI-Ganga Researcher(s) to work for the conservation of the river Ganges- Essential Qualifications & Experience: Same as for applying for the position of JRF/SRF/RA as per DST, GoI norms**. (**Please see the details for JRF/SRF/RA - OM issued by the DST, New Delhi, Govt. of India, dated October 21, 2014). Age limit- Between 25-35 years as on Aug 01, 2016 Terms and Conditions for NASI-Ganga Researcher(s): 1. The applicant must send a proposal (2 pages only) forwarded by the supervisor/ head of the institution for the research work to be undertaken, if appointed. 2. If appointed- a. The Scholar will initially be appointed for two years. b. The total emolument to be paid to the scholar will be as per his/her position to be decided by the selection committee with the approval of the NASI-Council; he/she may be appointed as JRF/SRF/RA, as per DST, Govt. of India norms. c. The scholar will work in his/ her own institution from where he/she would be nominated for the scholarship. d. A quarterly report will be required to be submitted by the scholar to the General Secretary, NASI, on the work done by him/her during the period under report. e. From time to time, as per functional requirement of the Academy the Scholar may be required to be present in the Academy; and render his/her services. f. A contingent grant of Rs. 50,000/- per annum will also be provided to the scholar through his/her Department/Institution, for travel in connection with the research, expenses on modes of communication, chemicals, stationary etc. g. The Scholar will acknowledge the name of the Academy/ NASI-Ganga Research Scholarship in his/her all the publications during the tenure of the scholarship.
