Canine Vaccinations Needed Throughout Life: 6 to 8 weeks: Distemper-Measles-

Parainfluenza (CPI)-Parovirus 8 to 12 weeks: D.H.L.L.P->Distemper-

Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parovirus

12 weeks: Rabies shot-Coronavirus 16 weeks: D.H.L.L.P Vaccinations 1 year: Rabies shot (Continue the Rabies

shot every 3 years)

Distemper:

It is a viral disease that is highly contagious and is often fatal. Distemper affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems.

Symptoms: fever, pneumonia, runny nose, discharge from eyes, vomiting, paralysis, and loss of motor and mental skills.

Treatment: There is no cure, but there is constant treatment for all of the symptoms and side effects of the disease.

Dog infected with Distemper:

Infectious Hepatitis:

Hepatitis is a disease of the liver and other body organs. The virus spread through bodily fluids including nasal discharge and urine.

Symptoms: sore throat, coughing, pneumonia, cornea may become blurry, and as the kidneys and liver fail, seizures, dehydration, and vomiting can occur.

Treatment: There is no treatment. Intravenous fluids and consistent care are needed.

Hepatitis in a Canine:

Leptospirosis:

Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease and is spread through urine of infected animals. It is contagious and the organism that carries the disease thrives in water. Leptospirosis is contracted through deep cuts and mucous membranes.

Symptoms: depression, fever, loss of appetite, liver and kidney damage, vomiting, dehydration and excessive urination.

Treatment: It is a bacterial disease, so it can be cured with antibiotics.

Leptospirosis:

Coronavirus:

Coronavirus is virus that attacks the small intestine lining.

Symptoms: diarrhea, nausea, lack of appetite, fatigue and vomiting.

Treatment: There is no cure for coronavirus. Nurse the dog, and let its immune system try to conquer the disease.

Coronavirus:

Rabies:

Rabies is a viral disease and is usually fatal. It is a zoonotic disease, which means it can be transmitted to humans. The disease is spread through saliva and can be absorbed through a bite, mucous membrane, or the eye.

Symptoms: change in behavior, aggression, agitation, and anxiety.

Treatment: There is no cure for rabies.

Rabies:

Parainfluenza:

Parainfluenza is a highly contagious respiratory disease. If a dog is exposed to drafts, colds, and high humidity it could increase its chances of contracting the disease.

Symptoms: coughing, runny nose, difficulty breathing, depleted of energy, and the pneumonia.

Treatment: Antibiotics are given to the dog to calm the cough.

Parainflueza:

Parvovirus:

Parvovirus is extremely similar to coronavirus. They are both caused by the same virus that attacks the lining of the small intestine.

Symptoms: diarrhea and vomiting. Treatment: There is no cure for

parvovirus. You must try to nurse the dog back to health and allow its immune system to defeat the disease.
