Why?

• The key to a successful new product is identifying a problem perceived or not perceived and solving it.

• Grease Traps are a problem for Supermarket Owners.

Page 3: Vacuum Grease Accumulators

Problem

• Grease Traps that are installed in a store are a necessary evil.

• They are commonly required by code to protect the interior gravity lines inside the store.

• There is also an exterior Grease Trap located outside the store for final protection of the sewer lines.

• This all to protect the local wastewater treatment plant.

What's wrong with Grease Traps

• They are expensive to purchase. • They are expensive to maintain.• They are a burden to maintain.• They produce extremely strong odors.• They are a biological hazard during cleaning.• They catastrophically fail

Our Idea

• Develop a Vacuum Grease Interceptor (VGA)

• Install them in place of Grease Traps in the individual departments.

• Transport Grease Waste through a separate or common piping to Grease Waste Tanks in a common location at the Vacuum Center.

• Discharge Grease Waste to a local or external Grease Trap.

Benefit

• Centrally Locate Collected Grease Waste.• Centrally Locate Cleaning Point.• Reduce Maintenance Required on Sales

Floor.• Easy Access to Overhead Vacuum Piping

vs. Buried Piping.• Initial Capital expense Comparison Between

A Vacuum Grease System and A Gravity Grease Waste System are comparable.

Indirect

• This concept utilizes above or below grade conventional Grease Traps.

• A common Vacuum Center is used for condensate and Grease Waste.

Direct

• This concept eliminates the need for conventional Grease Traps.

• A separate Vacuum Center or tank collection location may be required depending on local codes.
