1.IntroductionThiswhitepaperdescribesthemethodforsettingupaVariCamLTforoperationinamulti-camerasystem.
VariCamLTVersion6.0offersimprovedliveoperationfunctionality,andcannowbecontrolledwiththePanasonicAK-HRP1000GJ/1005remoteoperationpanel(ROP).TheVariCamLTalsofeaturesnew“shadingmodes”forimageenhancementinlocationssuitableforROPuse.

3.ImageEnhancementParametersandROPSupportedItems
ThefollowingshadingmodeshavebeenaddedtoVariCamLTVersion6.0andlatertofacilitateuseinmulti-camerasystems.(Note:HLGissupportedfromVersion8.0.)
(1)MainColor:V-Log,GradingSel:ShadingWhilestillusingtheV-Logsignalforrecording,outputssuchasGainandPedestalcanbecontrolledwiththeROP.Sincetherearenomajorimageenhancementchanges,itisrecommendedtousethistogetherwith3DLUTforenhancement.ThismodecanbeusefulwhenCameraoutputsarelive,andrecordedimagesaregradedinpostproduction.
(2)MainColor:Shading,GammaSel:V-LogControllableparametersarealmostthesameas(1),butROPcontrolalsoappliestotherecordedimages,exceptfor3DLUT.Applying3DLUTduringpost-processingwillreproducethesameimagesastheoutput.Thismodecanbeusefulwhenimagesareenhancedtoacertaindegreeonset,andLUTandothertweaksareaddedinpostproduction.
(3)MainColor:Shading,GammaSel:BCGamma/HLGThismodeenablesasalmostallVariCamLTimageenhancementsettingsaspossibletobecontrolledbytheROP.3DLUTcannotbeused.Thismodeisrecommendedforsituationswherethereisnopostproductionandtheentireshotwillbecomposedonset.WhenselectingBCGamma,itisalsopossibletoadjustthegamma,enablingmoreflexibilityofadjustmentthanthescene1-5presetgammas.
(4)ProcessedRAWModeProcessedRAWoutputsuperimposesimage-enhancementprocessesforliveoperaRon.Thewholesystemworksas4KwhenthecameraisconnectedtoVariCam4KRAWsupporteddevices.ProcessedRAWcanbeselectedwhenMainColorissettoanycolormodeotherthanV-Logmode.
