Support teenagers to develop the confidence and the communication skills they need for the world of work

Volunteer with Words for Work and help Lambeth school pupils unlock speaking and listening skills, gain confidence and an insight into the world of work.

Volunteers will be needed for two school days in June or July to support students in activities to improve their communication skills and employability. Dates and times to be confirmed shortly. There will also be an evening celebration event and training is provided prior to the workshops.

The project is initially running for a year, with plans to extend beyond.

The Vauxhall Gardens Estate is the area between Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, Black Prince Road and Kennington Lane.

• Engagement with the wonderfully diverse population on Vauxhall Gardens Estate• Mutual respect, understanding and cooperation with loads of fun.• A whole range of activities with all generations on the estate, celebrating it as a great place to live.

Kings College Public Dental Health, Lambeth NHS and Well London (supported by the National Lottery-with topping up donations welcome), working alongside community representatives, stakeholders and residents

Vauxhall Foodbank is open twice a week on a Wednesday and Saturday from 11.30am – 1.30pm.

Vauxhall Foodbank hires a room at the Vauxhall Christian Centre, 105 Tyers St and is open during the Foodbank opening times.

Working with various existing organisations to reduce those adults and children in food poverty in the local Vauxhall area.

We are developing our new Foodbank website and there is a space to advertise those companies that provide on going support.

About Vauxhall Foodbank

Vauxhall Foodbank provides emergency food parcels for those in food crisis. The food is collected by volunteers from customers at various supermarkets and distributed by volunteers working with existing agencies/charities.
