Session One Opening

SANDY PAPER: Hello friends. Welcome to the workshop of wonders, where we imagine and

build with God. I know how it looks. You probably want to say !ut Sandy..." (indicate with yourhands for the Visioneers (children) to repeat what you just said.)

VISIONEERS: !ut Sandy...

SANDY: You#re e%actly right. !ut here#s the deal & when we imagine with God, we don#t 'ust see

things for how they look. We see what they can be. ($en the ordinary can be e%traordinary.

($erybody put on your Wonder )ision Goggles. (Perhaps some protests from the Visioneers. *ight.

You don#t ha$e your Wonder )ision Goggles yet. !ut you do ha$e great imaginations. +ake one

like this. (Curve one hand like half of binoculars and invite Visioneers to do so.) +ake the other hand

like this. (Do the same with the other hand.) nd put them up to your eyes like this. (Imitate lookin

throuh binoculars.) -ow imagine how something ordinary, like a little ant, might look through

your goggles. (Pause.) an you see it/ (!ost may respond" #$o%&) I forgot. We ha$e to turn them

on by saying Wonder )ision & aaah0 ('ay the first part #onder Vision& with a low monotone. 'in

the second part" #aaah%& very hih" like an anelic choir.) ll together. Here we go 1

VISIONEERS/SANDY: Wonder )ision & aaah0 (*ivet pops up.)

SANDY: 2o you see anything now/ (!ost Visioneers will respond" #+es.&) Hey, it#s my good friend,

*i$et. ($erybody say Hi, *i$et."

VISIONEERS: Hi, *i$et0

RIVET: Hey Sandy, gi$e me si%0 (,ih five each of *ivet-s handsfeet /uickly.) Wow0 3ook at all

those people. (0ooks out.) re you ha$ing them all do the Wonder )ision Goggles thing/

SANDY: Yeah.

RIVET: Ha$e you told them they can see me without their goggles/

SANDY: -ot yet. (Sandy and Rivet stare at the Visioneers for a few seonds.!

RIVET: +aybe you should, so they don#t get stuck like that.

SANDY: Good idea. (1o Visioneers.) You can put your hands down. -ow we#re going to use a

different kind of $ision. 4irst, I need to make some ad'ustments on *i$et#s thinking cap. ('andy

takes screwdriver and pretends to make adjustments on *ivet-s hat.) 5here.



RIVET: re we going to use the nt1am 6777/

SANDY: Yes. It will gi$e us an ant#s1eye $iew of whate$er you look at.

RIVET: Great. So...what do you want me to look at/

SANDY: I want you to go to the laboratory or one of my heroes, the great in$entor, 2r. Wow. Wewill watch from the monitor.

RIVET: You want me to spy on 2r. Wow/0

SANDY: -ot spy, 'ust obser$e. We#$e got all this stuff here in the workshop, and plenty of

imagination.

SANDY: Hi, )isioneers. Welcome back to the Workshop of Wonders. I#m trying to add some

detail to the paint 'ob on this house, but my brush is a little too big. You know, bigger isn#t always

better. I could really use a small brush right now. ould you help me find one/ 3et#s all put onour Wonder )ision Goggles and see if we can find a small paintbrush. (If kids have done the

onder Vision 2oles craft" they may use them here. If not" make binoculars with your hands and

encourae the children to do the same.) 2on#t forget, we also ha$e to use Wonder )ision & aaah0

Session 5hree losing

(1he little house now has an oak tree painted on the side. *ivet instructs 'andy" who is usin the little

brush to #paint& acorns on the tree. Position the house so the Visioneers can see the tree.)

RIVET: nd one more little acorn right there.

SANDY: One more/0 !ut we#$e already got so many.

RIVET: (1akes deep breath and then speaks /uickly.) Yes, but that one little acorn can grow into a

big oak tree and birds can come and build their nests in it and the big oak tree will ha$e more

little acorns that can grow into more big oak trees for more birds to build...

SANDY: (Interrupts" but ood3naturedly.) Okay, okay. You#re right. So one more little & very

important & acorn... right...here. (#Paints& the final acorn.) 5here. What do you think/

RIVET: It#s 'ust right.

SANDY: I#m glad you like it. While the paint dries, why don#t we say our )ision )erse/

RIVET: Okay, but it#s kind of a long one.

SANDY: 3et#s find a fun way to say the $erse, and our )isioneers can help us. 5he $ision )erse is?

Workshop of Wonders that could work as a pillowcase. We should probably put on our Wonder

)ision Goggles for this. (If kids have done the onder Vision 2oles craft" they may use them here.

If not" make binoculars with your hands and encourae children to do the same.) 2on#t forget, we also

SANDY: ('cans the workshop and sees a small piece of fabric.) 1ha0 (alks over and picks up fabric.) 5his piece of fabric will be 'ust right. I can make the pillowcase out of the material and

use scraps as the inside for a soft, comfy pillow.
