News & Notes from Pastor Tim
Dear Friends,
Wow!...
...what a Holy Week & Easter Weekend we had here at Alleluia!
Over 1,100 gathered on Palm Sunday to shout, “Hosanna!” and celebrated
First Communion for 50 kids!
Holy Week continued with Maundy Thursday Worship & the Living Last Supper, Good Friday Children’s
Event with Worship, and Good Friday Tenebrae Service with the Seven Last Words of Christ.
Easter Weekend, 1,858 worshipers proclaimed, “HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN, INDEED, ALLELUIA!” Worship
with brass, a visit from Angel Harry Caray, and an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids highlighted the celebration
of Jesus rising from the grave.
Over 3,600 people worshiped Palm Sunday through Easter Weekend to take in all Holy Week had to offer.
Thanks be to God!
A BIG THANK YOU to each and every volunteer who made Holy Week and Easter possible. “We are the
church!” You made it an amazing week together!
Update on the Worship & Music Director Search
A Worship & Music Director Search Team has been formed. We have met, and will continue to meet, until our
next Worship & Music Director is on staff. We are excited to make our process a prayerful one, and we ask that
you would join us in prayer—to seek and call God’s choice for us. We are vetting candidates, beginning interviews,
and trusting in the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our timeline is aggressive, with hopes of adding this person to our
staff in the early summer months; but we will be patient, if need be, to find the right fit vs. just finding someone.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
First-Quarter Financials
Thank you for your cheerful and generous giving to the mission of Alleluia!: to enable all to come, connect, and
commit to Jesus. Thanks to you, we end the First Quarter of our financial year (January through March) ahead of
budget! Alleluia! Way to go! I want to encourage all members to prayerfully consider your offerings with the
following:
Please stay faithful with your offerings during the spring and summer seasons
Contact our office to sign up for Electronic Fund Transfer for your offerings
If you miss worship, please give online through our website and/or mail in your gift
Give an above-and-beyond special offering
Increase your weekly/monthly/annual giving – increased giving fuels ministries
In Christ,
Pastor Tim

Children at the Nueva Sion Child Development Center sending thank you’s recently to over 50 Alleluia! sponsors!
While returning from school two girls pose for a picture during Alleluia!’s 2015 visit to the future site of Nueva Sion.
In 2016, Alleluia! partnered with Compassion International to launch a new Child Development Center called Nueva Sion outside of Huanuco, Peru. It is now a growing, vibrant program that is serving children and families
in this impoverished area. There are still many children at Nueva Sion waiting to begin a relationship with a sponsor. You could be an answer to their prayer and help lift them out of poverty in Jesus’ name.

There will be NO KidsConnect the weekend of May 27-28.
Summer KidsConnect will begin the weekend of June 3-4. We’ll travel to the islands,
swamps, and ranches throughout the summer months. A “collection” of some type will take place! Be sure to come and not miss ANY of the FUN! All ages will be learning together. Please contact Ms. April or Ms. Michele if you are able to help.
KidsConnect Photos from our “King David Celebration” can be found on page 6.
THANK YOU to the 120+ who have volunteered in Children’s Ministry this year! A special event
to say THANK YOU is coming soon!
The Faith Choir & JC Choir did an outstanding job at their spring musical, “His Mission Possible,”
an interactive past/present day retelling of 5 Bible stories! Thanks to all participants, volunteers, and attendees! Choirs, enjoy your summer off! Photos can be found on page 9.
Design a Robot for Maker Fun Factory VBS! Alleluia! families we need your help decorating
for VBS this year. We invite each family (even those outside of KIDSCONNECT) to work together
to design a ROBOT to be displayed around the church during VBS week.
Guidelines:
Use recycled materials (bottles, paper tubes, boxes, anything you have laying around).
One Robot per family (make a name plate with ROBOT's name and your FAMILY name).
We encourage BIG robots but are looking for all sizes.
Deadline is JUNE 3-4. Have FUN!
If you have any questions about any of the above information, please contact
April Blair ([email protected]) or Michele Nelson ([email protected]).

Adult Ministries News
Summer Connect Group News! Don’t let those lazy hazy crazy days of summer hold you back—now is the perfect time to try out a Connect Group!
These groups are centered around Christ, and provide an opportunity for spiritual growth while also enabling
participants to get to know one another better.
This summer, we are highlighting Sermon Studies, which is one of the three types of groups in our Adult Ministries
model (the other two are Topical and Bible-Based). Check out all the different options, and make a commitment
to yourself to give one of them a try—you’ll be glad you did!
Young Adult Sermon Study
This summer is the start of a Young Adult Connect group! It will be led by Sydney Hertogs, and anyone ages 18-25
are invited. This is a group for anyone going into college, already in college, or recently graduated to connect with
each other! You do not need to be a member of Alleluia! to attend this Connect group. The meetings will be Sermon
based, going into more depth about the past Sunday's message. Meetings will be every Wednesday at 6pm in the
Underground, and our first meeting is June 21st. We hope to see you there!
Women’s Sermon Study
Join Pastor Tammy this summer as she leads a group of women who are interested in diving deeper into the prior
weekend’s sermon. This group will meet at church weekly from 9:30-10:30 on Thursdays starting June 8th. Going
on vacation? No problem, you can come back the following week! Contact Pastor Tammy for more info or to sign
up, [email protected].
Sunday 10:15 Sermon Study
People who participate in this group typically attend 9:00 worship first, then walk down the hall to the Community
Room, which is across from the main kitchen and next to the CLC. Participants discuss the week’s sermon using the
questions available on the Alleluia! website. Go to www.alleluialutheran.org>Connect! to get an idea what the
discussion questions are like. Drop in anytime to try it out—there is no obligation or commitment to join!
Midweek Sermon Study
A new co-ed midweek Sermon Study will be starting this summer as well! It will be run much like the other groups
above. More details coming soon…contact Darcy to express interest at [email protected].
Already in a Connect Group? Don’t lose momentum now—there are lots of good reasons for keeping your group going
over the summer. For a great article on the subject, click HERE.
