Injectronics ABS Repair Service

EGR Coolers Redesigned & Reengineered

Injectronics have seen many units with various issues including Electronic Module failure. As of recent times it had come to our attention that these units were also developing a hydraulic leakage issue. This was causing issues with customers complaining of a “spongy” brake pedal and mechanics having difficulties bleeding the hydraulic brake system after servicing or replacing brake components.

Goss has seen an increasing number of OE Nissan YD25DDTI EGR cooler failures. This has prompted our engineers to investigate the cause of this issue and develop a solution to manufacture a high quality aftermarket EGR cooler and reduce the risk of failure. In turbo diesel engines, exhaust temperatures reach over 650 degrees celsius. This is too high to be fed directly into the cylinders as this would further increase combustion temperatures and defeat its actual purpose. An EGR cooler is used to reduce exhaust gas temperatures before they enter the intake and reduce combustion temperatures. This process is known as EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and is one of the principal methods used to reduce NOX (Nitrogen Oxide) emissions from diesel engines.Goss have re-engineered the EGR cooler and developed a new manufacturing process to produce a product less prone to cracking or leakage. Units are also supplied with gaskets and brackets.

ATE MK70 ABS Pump assemblies are fitted to many Australian delivered vehicles which only have a basic Non-ESP type ABS system.

These vehicles include the following:

Dorman - Coolant Reservoirs

Many OE coolant reservoirs are failing due to the contamination, exposure to the elements and collision damage. Dorman offer replacement engine coolant reservoirs which are manufactured from premium plastic to withstand the stresses of under bonnet heat and engine vibration. Many have been redesigned with a more durable construction to withstand extreme temperatures and a longer service life (where applicable). It is thoroughly tested to ensure optimum fit and performance on specific vehicle applications.

• Direct replacement - engine coolant reservoir fits and functions like original equipment for a trouble-free installation.

• Most Dorman reservoirs also include a new reservoir cap and drain tube (where applicable).• Excellent value - OE quality at a lower price.

Goss – Fuel Rail Pressure Sensors RANGE EXTENSION

The Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) is used on Common Rail Diesel and Direct Injection Petrol applications to provide the pressure reading in the fuel rail to the vehicles Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and is mounted in the fuel rail close to the injectors.

Goss have extended their range of Fuel Rail Pressure Sensors to include Petrol Direct injection fuel rail pressure sensors, demonstrating our commitment to continually expanding our ranges with the latest in vehicle technology. All Goss ranges are subjected to a stringent validation process, are engineered and sourced from leading OES manufacturers. See our website for more part numbers.

Goss – Variable Valve Timing SolenoidsVariable Valve Timing (VVT) is a technology that’s used on newer model engines to improve fuel economy, idle smoothness, emissions and performance. The technology allows valve timing to change with engine speed and load, so the engine can develop more power while also getting better fuel economy and producing less emissions.

These vehicles include the following:• Electrical problems with the supply voltage, ground connection or wiring to the VVT can prevent the variable

valve control system from functioning.

• Low oil pressure, due to a worn oil pump or worn cam bearings can prevent the cam phaser from developing enough internal pressure to rotate the cam.

• Debris, sludge or varnish will restrict or even block the oil flow to the VVT, preventing it from working properly.

• Incorrect oil viscosity in the engine can also impact on correct VVT operation, causing various fault codes to set.

• Physical wear or damage inside the cam phaser housing may prevent it from rotating, cause it to stick, or make the unit noisy. A broken return spring may prevent it from returning to base timing.

TECHNICAL BULLETINS

The Anti-lock brake system (ABS) is very familiar to modern cars. This system has the function of maintaining control and directional stability of a car under extreme braking. The ABS ECU has a self−diagnostic system which monitors the input and output circuits. The ABS ECU operates the solenoid valves and the pump motor in sequence in order to check each respective electrical system. This function operates only once each time the ignition switch is turned ON.

There are around 100,000 vehicles with hybrid ABS braking systems on the road and the demand for an alternative to OEM replacement has been on the increase, Injectronics has identified a number of common problems with the hybrid ABS units found in the Toyota Prius and Camry models.

When a problem is detected in any of the systems, the ECU turns on the ABS warning light in the instrument cluster to alert the driver that a malfunction has occurred. The code is stored in memory for access at a later time. The ABS ECU will also store the diagnostic trouble codes for any ABS malfunction. Diagnostic trouble codes can be read by the technician when completing a diagnostic scan of the vehicle.

Toyota Camry Hybrid AHV40R 2.4L built between 2010-2012 and Toyota Prius Hybrid NHW20R 1.5L built between 2003-2009, Toyota Prius Hybrid ZVW30R 1.8L built between 2009-2016 have been identified with an inherent design flaw from the manufacture, through extensive investigation and research Injectronics can not only offer a repair of customers own unit for the faults listed below but have also developed and rectified the design flaw offering a truly new and leading edge repair service.

Before removing unit from the vehicle, check and record all fault codes. Supply these and any other diagnostic information when sending unit to Injectronics.

Vehicles are being presented to repairers for no left-hand side low beam and/or high beams inoperative. In many instances the globe had been replaced but the fault remained. Our customers have come across a common fault with these vehicles being a no left-hand side low beam. This affects the following vehicles:

Common Faults & Fault codes

Injectronics can provide the following solutions:

The Body Control Module (BCM) detects a fault when the resistance is outside its normal tolerances, this can be caused by an open circuit in the system such as, a faulty globe, broken wire (short to ground) or has aftermarket LED OR HID globes fitted or accessorises such as light bars being fitted to the vehicle without the proper circuit protection being added to the system. After a complete check of the vehicles wiring is completed and any faults such as burnt or exposed wiring, broken or water damaged connector plug’s /wiring rectified & the correct globes fitted as per manufactures specifications. The technician is directed to complete a scan of the vehicles diagnostic system to confirm the fault has been rectified by completing the activation test of the lighting system with a suitable scan tool. If the vehicle still has no left-hand side headlight or high beam function the fault can be in the BCM itself.

• AB3914A073CJ• DB3914A073BB• DB3914A073BC• DB3914A073BD• DB3914A073BE

The BCM in the Ford Ranger / Mazda BT50 runs a solid-state circuit protection system that monitors the load and resistances of the vehicles electrical system. If an abnormality is detected the BCM cuts any circuit outside its tolerance. When a fault is detected it triggers a counter in the BCM that can only happen a limited amount of times before the BCM cuts out the left-hand side low beam and or high beams permanently and in some cases, communication with the BCM is lost. In the case where the BCM has been identified as the issue the only option for the technician is to replace the BCM, This would require programming to the vehicle using an appropriate dealer scan tool, up until now this was a dealer only operation.

Injectronics only requires the BCM for testing & repair of the above listed faults. The BCM is located on the driver’s side of the vehicle underneath the dash panel.
