    Who is Sulare Fernando?I am 20 years old and I share my birthday (April 23rd, 1991)

    with William Shakespeare. Hence, the passion for writing and forbeing a drama queen !! I currently work as a Fashion Writer for

    one of the countrys premier fashion stores. I was born andbrought up in Ras al Khaimah, UAE. I moved to Sri Lanka withmy family in 2007. My interests are in music, fashion,international relations, diplomacy, traveling and creative writing.My hobbies include traveling, singing, poetry and watchingmovies. I am also uent in four dierent languages i.e. Hindi,Urdu, French and Arabic. I am currently learning Spanish and Iplan to start on CIM soon. My ambition is to be a diplomat or aNews Correspondent for International Aairs. I love animals andI have a pet Persian kitten named Chocky. As a person wholoves God, my advice to all girls around the world is to glorifyGod and make your family proud in whatever you do :)

    What was your initial reaction when you found out

    that you were selected to be the Veet fan of themonth?I was initially shocked! It took me two whole minutes for my brainto sink in the fact that I am Veet fan of the month!!!

    What a Beautiful name you have Sulare! Would youcare to share the meaning behind it?

    e meaning of my name is rays of the risingrun in Sanskrit. It was a name chosen by my

    Dad.

    What about your family?I consider my parents as my biggestsupport system. My dad used to work as a

    telecommunications engineer forEtisalat in UAE. He is retired now. Ihave a 4 year old brother named

    Johanne whome I consider abundle of joy

    (andmisery) attimes!!

    What is Fashion writing?Fashion writing is basically blogging about the latest trends, stylesand designs in fashion from around the world. My focus is on thefashion metropolitans of the world; such as Milan, Paris, London,New York, Mumbai and Colombo.

    A little bit more about your work and working style? Working as a social media executive, I get to ex my creative writing skills on a daily basis. I get to observe latest marketingtrends and see what customers love and loathe in the world of

    fashion.

    You are uent in four languages! How did youmanage that and what would your advice be foranybody who is learning a foreign language?

    As a kid who was brought up in a multinational country like UAE,I was exposed to dierent cultures and nationalities from a veryyoung age. I learnt Hindi, Urdu, French and Arabic by conversing

    with my friends in school and those languages were a part of myschool curriculum. I believe that constant oral and writtencommunication is the key to learning any language. I consider theskill of learning a new language like riding a bicycle. When youdont use your skill, it gets rusty over time.

    Your hobbies!! and the love to travel !! if youdescribed a bit more on that?Besides being an ardent cinephile, I love reading. I love cuddling

    with a good book on a rainy day. I love singing and I sing soprano

    in my church choir.

    Any new movies you would recommend?Drive, Ides of March, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,

    Drama!! Drama!! Drama!! How does your friendsand family cope up with that?ey are used to my theatrics really. No matter what happens in

    life and in any given situation, they cant remain cross with mebecause I have the uncanny ability to make people laugh :)

    You want to specialize in foreign aairs, why?I love traveling. I am also very passionate about current aairs andinternational relations. My ambition as a diplomat helps mecombine all these interests as a whole.

    Marketing? What do you love about it? And whatwould you do if you were to choose between

    Marketing and Foreign Aairs?I've found that Marketing is very rewarding and challengingbecause I work with virtually all functions, and there are so many

    ways to promote brands/products/services, reach consumers,increase sales, etc. With marketing, I get to be more involved andsee more of the bigger picture. Between marketing and foreignaairs, I would always choose foreign aairs hands down!

    Your love for animals, we would so love to hearmore about Chocky!I love animals! I have had rabbits, dogs and a parrot as pets.Chocky was given to me as a gift by a friend. Shes currently 5months old and has a very unique mix of black and ginger fur.
