• Available 24 hours a day, all year round.
• To access the service, buy a 1-day or a 7-day ticket
• online or at any Vélib’ station or sign-up for a long-term subscription!
• The first 30 minutes of each trip are always free of charge.
• There’s no booking. Just turn up and go!
• Return your bike to any Velib’ station.

« Bike sharing will make Paris a cycle capital city »
Aim : to triple cycling use and reach a 15% modal share by 2020
A previously unseen (in Paris) 150 M€ budget
Doubling the total lenght of bicycle lanes (from 700km to 1.400km)
Create a cycling express network to cross Paris from N. to S. and from E. to W.
Offering a cycling continuity between Paris/closed suburb (Paris’s gateways)

• The development of bicycle in Paris City aims at improving global living conditions by tackling several issues: improvement of Air quality, reduction of noise nuisance, reduction of car traffic and reduction of congestion in public transport, way to improve Public Health by providing an easy physical activity to practice
• Biking offers a freedom of movement but it’s also the most relevant way to commute for journey under 5km in city. Thus, bicycle has an important potential of development: half of current motorised commutes could be made by bike. Finally, Paris enjoys several assets for bicycle: a quite flat terrain, a mild climate, dense city with short distances, and beautiful urban landscapes

How Vélib’ is financed ?
The high quality service is financed through out of home inventory on public space, benefitting both brand communication an city of Paris campaigns
1 280 small format + 350 medium format scrolling City information panels combining 50% advertising faces and 50% City information and communication faces
The city information and communication faces have enabled to promote over 300 campaigns in 2016, in all areas (culture, events, awareness campaigns…)
For example, a City communication network (776 faces) reaches 64% of the population (11 y.o.+) an audience of 5.6 million people, with 99 million contacts delivered over a week
The advertising faces have welcomed many campaigns in 2016 among which major national and international brands
