Venmar is a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning company
Two Canadian offices: Saskatoon and St-Léonard-d'Aston, Quebec
Specialize in manufacturing commercial HVAC units
Their main focus is on efficiency and energy recovery methods
1. Enthalpy wheel not always needed: Most effective for large temperature
differences Wheel causes pressure drop and consumes
energy
2. Accurate flow rates measurement needed:
Cost effective means of measuring airstreams is needed
Integrated into control system to control air flow
1. Bypass the enthalpy wheel: Determine increased flow rate due to
decrease in pressure drop Determine annual energy savings due to
reduced fan speed
2. Flow measuring device: Develop cost effective means of measuring
airstreams Requires an accuracy of 8% Ensure compliance with existing control
system
