Venture Valley Game Competition & Mixer: Program Summary

The Venture Valley Game Competition can provide an opportunity for CEO members to organize a student activity that involves playing - or watching others play – an early, pre-launch version of an upcoming Mobile and PC game at a fun, exciting social gathering.

Plus, everyone can gain entrepreneurial and business skills by simply playing or watching the game, as the Venture Valley host explains what is happening throughout the lively competition.

To make the event even more engaging, CEO members may canvas the campus and community businesses to donate free pizza, fast food, drinks, or anything else for the game competitors, prize winners, and even the spectators!

Here are some helpful hints for your Venture Valley Game Mixer:

• Logistics o Three student game players, plus a student 18+ years (or adult supervisor) should

volunteer to be the main contacts with the Venture Valley Game Lab team members: o Diane Fornasier – Event/Marketing Lead | [email protected] o Nick Night – Game Support/Host | [email protected] o Contact both individuals as soon as possible, since time slots are limited for this Venture

supervisor, the three players, and any interested CEO members. o To execute the test run, a Volunteer Form will need to be signed, and an email and

mobile phone number will be needed, so Nick can send the game build in advance of the test run.

o The actual competition will only take about 20 minutes. However, scheduling at least an hour would be ideal so Nick could provide some guidance on playing the game before hand, and answer questions afterward.

• Location & Equipment o This event would be ideal on campuses that have an Esports Center, Game Lab, or any

other location that has a group of computer stations in an area that allows individuals to congregate and talk.

o The Venture Valley host will be on a Zoom conference call line from the game’s company headquarters, sharing his game screen and providing color commentary throughout the game competition, so it would be ideal to have a large screen connected to a computer for the viewing audience to also see what is happening on his screen.

o Up to three players can compete at the same time (with Nick as the 4th), so it will be necessary to have three additional game computers and monitors – one for each of the collegiate players to play on.

o The spectators can join into the Zoom call if they wish, to watch the Venture Valley host’s screen on their own smart phone or mobile device.

o Speakers could be hooked up to a computer so the Venture Valley host can be heard by the spectators.

• Event Itinerary: o Registration / Check-In if needed or desired. o CEO welcome remarks (5-10 min) o Venture Valley Game Host instructions (10-15 min o Game Competition (15-20 min) o Questions & Answers for Venture Valley Host (10-15 min) o Wrap up remarks (5-10 min) o Optional: Networking & Handing out Prizes (15 min+)
