Sacred Heart College Venue Hire
Sacred Heart College is an amazing facility, built on 22 hectares of rolling grounds, framed by panoramic views over the Hauraki Gulf.
The school boasts a large auditorium and foyer, a theatre, chapel and lounge, classrooms, gymnasium, expansive playing fields and indoor cricket nets – all of which are available for hire outside College hours.
Sacred Heart offers a secure, private and unique venue for your next event, only 20 minutes from Auckland CBD.
Auditorium and Br Sean Hanaray FoyerThe Auditorium has seating for up to 1500, and is equipped with a high quality projector and audio system, a large stage and a high quality multimedia system. Seating may be cleared to accommodate dining tables for up to 600 guests.
The Foyer is the main entry point to the public section of the building. It may be used in conjunction with the Auditorium or as a stand-alone venue. The Foyer holds up to 250 for a cocktail event, or 160 for a sit-down meal. It can also be set up theatre style to seat 300.
Together these two areas provide a multi-purpose space, with excellent natural acoustics. They are an ideal venue for concerts, conferences, cultural group celebrations, fundraisers and exhibitions.
AV EquipmentA digital sound desk, with a range of fixed and hand-held microphones are available to hire as well as additional speakers and amplifiers, and a Yamaha grand piano.
A ‘front of house’ lighting bar provides general lighting cover and spotlights.
StageThe large raised stage has a proscenium arch with one curtain and a deep open space behind. A spacious apron in front of the curtain has stairs either side, plus a disability lift.
Kitchen, Catering and EquipmentA spacious highly spec’d kitchen is fitted with commercial equipment – gas hobs, four electric ovens, four fridges and a dishwasher. The kitchen has good access and is situated to the rear of the Foyer.
Other catering equipment, tableware and furniture are available to hire on request.

Performing Arts
TheatreAdjoining the left hand side of the Foyer is the Theatre. Accessed via stairs or lift from the Foyer, the Theatre is suitable for small to medium sized musical productions, full scale plays, dance shows, presentations and concerts.
The Theatre has fixed tiered seating for up to 240, with a flat floor level stage. The stage space has a large proscenium arch, accessed from a side wing and loading dock to the left. There is also a small wing to the right,accessed through an internal door.
The stage has a white cyclorama, black tabs upstage, as well as black centre tabs. There is a small apron in front of the curtain for presentations.
Green RoomOff the side wing is a comfortable private Green Room, including toilets and showers. It's the perfect space for performers to change, apply make-up and relax while not on stage.

Theatre AV EquipmentOur Theatre hosts a full lighting grid with a small number of LED luminaires, plus a virtual operating console. The sound room includes a digital sound desk and equipment to operate four handheld microphones or headsets.
A fixed data projector can display either onto the retractable screen in front of the curtain, or onto the cyclorama.
Music Practice RoomsAdjacent to the Theatre are eight music practice rooms ideal for small groups of musicians, classes, seminars and workshops.
Old Boys Memorial ChapelThe Chapel may be booked for baptisms, weddings and events suited to the sacred nature of the building.
The Blessed Sacrament Chapel is to the side of the main building and provides a tranquil space for prayer.
Accommodating up to 600 people, the semicircular Chapel gives all occupants clear visibility of the altar. It is equipped with a sound and video system, providing superb acoustics and visual capabilities. There is both an organ and a baby grand piano for use within the Chapel.
Old Boys LoungeThe Old Boys Lounge is accessed through the Chapel or opposite the visitors' carpark. It is the perfect space to use as a reception area after
a service, with a fully equipped self-contained kitchen.
The Old Boys Lounge is ideal for board meetings, conferences and workshops and is equipped with 105 chairs, four four-person round tables and six six-person rectangular tables.

Sports Facilities
Gymnasium and FieldsThe Gymnasium is situated at the bottom of Gate 4 off West Tamaki Road. Primarily used during term time for PE classes and basketball training, the Gymnasium includes an upstairs viewing area, basketball hoops, kitchen facilities and several classroom-based teaching areas.
The Gymnasium and classrooms may be hired in various combinations depending on team or group requirements. The classrooms are a perfect space to run training or first aid courses.
The Gymnasium is surrounded by sports fields and training areas and sits alongside the Sacred Heart Aquatic Centre, managed by Community Leisure Management. Bookings for the indoor or outdoor pool can be made directly with CLM by phone, on 09 529 3741 or by email [email protected]
Our playing fields are also available for hire (subject to availability). These include:• six rugby fields;• three football fields;• six cricket pitches (including
four artificial wickets); and• an artificial hockey/tennis surface.
Indoor Cricket Nets A recent addition to Sacred Heart College are the Indoor Cricket nets.
The all-weather nets offer three specified cricket lanes as well as the opportunity to be able to retract the nets to create a large open and unrestricted space for training and practice sessions. The floodlit lighting allows use of the space both day and night.
The facility offers a large space for sporting groups and parking is available close by in conjunction with the venue hire.

Boarding Hostel
AccommodationSacred Heart College Hostel is an ideal place to stay for sporting and cultural groups who are visiting the Auckland area. Situated in the suburb of Glendowie, 30 minutes from Auckland Airport and 20 minutes from the city centre with major transport routes extremely close by.
The Hostel offers accommodation for groups of up to 150 people in either dormitory style or individual rooms, catering for groups of all ages. The Hostel has catering facilities and offers cooked breakfast, lunch, dinner and cut lunch options.
Father Clement and Father Champagnat Houses are split into four large rooms, each with individual sleeping areas, communal bathrooms and shared common room area with Satellite TV.
Brother Leonard House has 57 individual rooms with bathrooms situated on two levels. These rooms are ideal for groups of older children or adults.

Parking Parking is available within the school grounds in the evening, weekends and school holidays. Gate 1 off Crossfield Road is the main entrance and the closest parking to the Auditorium and Theatre, with 45 car parks. More parking is available through Gates 2, 3 and 4 off West Tamaki Road, with space for up to 255 cars.
There is also ample street parking on both West Tamaki and Crossfield Roads.
Wheelchair AccessOur parking spaces are designed to ensure easy access for everyone. Parking through Gate 2 offers two disabled parking bays and a flat entrance into the back of the Foyer.
For guests who are using the Theatre, there is a ground level elevator up to the mezzanine floor. The Theatre offers ample space for wheelchairs on the top tier. A ramp off Centennial Square leads you to the side entry of the Theatre and the front entry into the Foyer and Auditorium.
