Participants will explore the history and development of the Verbal Behavior: Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VBMAPP) and how it is used as an assessment tool, curriculum guide, and skill tracking system for children with autism. This session will provide an overview of the components of the VBMAPP assessment tool including assessment characteristics, conceptual basis, administration, interpretation, and programming Learner Outcomes, participants will: State the five components of the VBMAPP assessment tool State the components of a functional analysis of language in relation to the VBMAPP assessment tool Develop administration competencies related to the Milestones assessment component Relate the VBMAPP to developmental sequences for typically developing and autistic populations. Implement program identification/development based on sample Milestones assessments Chris McCloskey currently works as an Autism Consultant for the Chester County Intermediate Unit. Her educational background and experience is as a Speech Language Pathologist who has specialized in working with students with developmental disabilities and severe language disorders. She has had extensive training with verbal behavior programming and currently also serves as an internal coach for the Pennsylvania Verbal Behavior Initiative. She provides training and consultative services for the school districts withinChester County. Participants  will  explore  the  history  and  development  of  the  Verbal  Behavior:  Milestones  Assessment  and  Placement  Program  (VB-­‐MAPP)  and  how  it  is  used  as  an  assessment  tool,  curriculum  guide,  and  skill  tracking  system  for  children  with  autism.  This  session  will  provide  an  overview  of  the  components  of  the  VB-­‐MAPP  assessment  tool  including  assessment  characteristics,  conceptual  basis,  administration,  interpretation,  and  programming
