    VITROCERAMICHOBTheceramicsurfaceofthehoballowsafasttransmissionofheatintheverticaldirection,fromtheheatingelementsunderneaththeceramicglasstothepanssetonit.Theheatdoesnotspreadinahorizontaldirection,sothattheglassstays“cool”atonlyafewcentimetersfromthecookingplate.The5cookingzonesareshownbypainteddisksontheceramicsurface.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:Theheatingelements incorporatea thermolimiter that switches theelementON/OFFduringallsettingstoprotecttheceramicglassfromoverheating.Theuseofincorrectpansand/orwrongpanpositioningwillcausethetemperaturelimitertooperatemorefrequently,resultinginareductionofcookingperformance.

    SINGLE COOKING ZONESIncorporating the heating element (fig. 2.2a or 2.2b) you can control and light up byselectingfromthe12positionsonthecontrolknob(fig.2.1).Theheatintensitycanberegulatedcontinuouslyfrom“OFF”to“12”(max).VERY IMPORTANT: TO SWITCH ON,ALWAYS LIGHTLY PRESS THE CONTROLKNOBTHENTURNIT.Checkthatthehobiscleanandthenswitchonbypressandturningthecontrolknob.

    DOUBLECOOKINGZONEIncorporating2heatingelementsyoucancontrolandlightuptogetherorseparatelybyturningleftorrightthe6positionscontrolknob(fig.2.3).Theheatintensitycanberegulatedcontinuouslyfrom“1”to“6”(max).

    HINTS FOR SAFE USE OF THE VITROCERAMICHOB• Beforeswitchingon,checkwhichknobcontrolstherequiredcookingzone.Youare

    advisedtoplacethesaucepanonthehobbeforeswitchingonandtotakeitoffafterswitchingoff.

    • Toswitchon,alwayslightlypressthecontrolknobthenturnit.• Usesaucepanswithanevenflatbottom(becarefulofcastironsaucepans).Uneven

    bottomscanscratchthepyroceramsurface.Checkthatthebottomiscleananddry.• Thediameterofthepanshouldmatchthatofthecookingzone(orbeslightlybigger)

    tomakethemostoftheenergy.• Potswithaluminiumbottomsmayleavesilverstreaksorspotsonthehob.• Donotleavewetordamplidsonthehob.• Donotusethetopifthesurfaceisbrokenordamaged.• Ifyounoteacrackinthecooktop,switchtheapplianceoffimmediatelyand

    COOKING ZONES POWER INDICATOR LIGHT(fig.2.6)Whentheceramichobisworking,the“ON”pilotlightinthecontrolpanelwillbeon(fig.2.6a).

    COOKING ZONES RESIDUAL HEAT INDICATORSIMPORTANTWhenthetemperatureofacookingzoneisabove140°F(60°C), therelevant“HOT SURFACE”warninglightinthevitroceramichob(fig.2.6b)willcomeontoindicatethatthezoneishot.Thislightwillstayonevenafterthecookingzonehasbeenswitchedofftoindicatethatthezoneisstillhot.Theresidualheatpersistsforsometimeafterthecookingzonehasbeenswitchedoff.During this time avoid touching the hob and take particular care if there arechildrennearby.Thelightwillgooutautomaticallywhenthecookingzonetemperaturedropsbelow140°F(60°C).

    AUTO

    Make sure that the handles of cookware do not stick out over the edge of the range, to avoid them being knocked over by accident. This also makes it more difficult for children to reach the cooking vessels.

    THERMOSTATKNOB(fig.3.2)Toturnontheheatingelementsoftheoven,settheswitchknobonthedesiredprogramandthethermostatknobontothedesiredtemperature.Tosetthetemperature,itisnecessarytomakethechosennumber,printedontheknob,tomatchwiththecontrolpanelindicator.TheelementswillturnONorOFFautomaticallyaccordingtotheenergyneedwhichisdeterminedbythethermostat.Theindicatorlightwillcycleonandoffduringcooking.

    Recommended for:Forgrillcookingwhenafastoutsidebrowningisnecessarytokeepthejuicesin, i.e.vealsteak,steak,hamburger,etc.

    CONVECTION COOKING WITH VENTILATIONTheupperandlowerheatingelementsandthefanturnon.Theheat isdispersedby forcedconvectionand the temperature canbe regulated tobetween120°F(50°C)and480°F(250°C)viathethermostatknob.

    Recommended for:For foodsof large volumeandquantitywhich require the same internal andexternaldegreeofcooking;forie:rolledroasts,turkey,legs,cakes,etc.

    VENTILATED COOKINGThecircularelementandfancomeon.Theheat isdispersedby forcedconvectionand the temperature canbe regulated tobetween120°F(50°C)and480°F(250°C)viathethermostatknob.Theovendoesnotrequirepreheating.

    Recommended for:Foodwhichhastobewell-cookedoutsideandsoftorrosyinside,forexamplelasagne,lamb,roastbeef,wholefishetc.

    COOKING DIFFERENT DISHES AT THE SAME TIMETheMULTIFUNCTIONovenatpositions or ofthefunctionselectorcancookvariousdifferentfoodsatthesametime.Fish,cakesandmeatcanbecookedtogetherwithoutthesmellsandflavoursmixing.Theonlyprecautionsrequiredarethefollowing:• Thecookingtemperaturesmustbeascloseaspossiblewithamaximumdifference

    of70-80°F(20-25°C)betweenthedifferentfoods.• Differentdishesmustbeplacedintheovenatdifferenttimesaccordingtothecooking

    timerequiredforeachone.Thistypeofcookingobviouslyprovidesaconsiderablesavingontimeandenergy.

    COOKING ADVICE

    STERILIZATIONSterilizationoffoodstobeconserved,infullandhermeticallysealedjars,isdoneinthefollowingway:a. Turntheswitchtoposition or .b. Setthethermostatknobtoposition350°F(175°C)andpreheattheoven.c. Fillthegrillpanwithhotwater.d. Setthejarsintothegrillpanmakingsuretheydonottoucheachotherandthedoor

    andsetthethermostatknobtoposition260°F(130°C).Whensterilizationhasbegun,thatis,whenthecontentsofthejarsstarttobubble,turnofftheovenandletcool.

    VENTILATEDBROILINGVentilatedbroilingmaybedonebyselecting withthefunctionselectorknob;thehotaircompletelyenvelopsthefoodthatistobecooked.Introducethefoodtobecooked,positioningthegrillpanasclosetotheinfra-redelementaspossible.Closethedoorandlettheovenoperateuntilbroilingisdone.Addinga fewdabsofbutterbefore theendof thecooking timegives thegolden “augratin”effect.Broilingwiththeovendoorclosed.

    Important: Use always suitable protective gloves when inserting/removing thebroilingpanfromtheoven(seenextpage).

    It is advisable to handlethe oven accessories usingovengloves.

    WARNINGVERY IMPORTANT

    WARNING!!

    REGENERATIONTurn the switch toposition or andset the temperature to300°F(150°C).Breadbecomesfragrantagainifwetwithafewdropsofwaterandputintotheovenforabout10minutes.

    ROASTINGToobtainclassicalroasting,itisnecessarytoremember:• thepre-settemperatureshouldbemaintained.• thatthecookingtimedependsonthequantityandthetypeoffoods.

    BROILING&DOUBLEBROILVeryimportant:thebroilordoublebroilmustalwaysbeusedwith the oven door closed. • Positiontheshelfonthesecondlevelfromthetop(fig.3.5).• Turnonthebroilordoublebroil,asexplainedinthepreceding

    paragraphsandlettheovenpreheatforabout5minuteswiththedoorclosed.

    • Placethefoodtobecookedabovethebroilingpan.• Introducethebroilingpan(fig.3.6)intheoven.Thebroiling
