Queensland initiatives
Advancing Education Action Plan:
• working with students and families to select the right VET
course using regional Labour Market Data, university
entry requirements and their SET plans
• putting students on the pathway to careers by expanding
the number of targeted VET options in schools
• providing career advice and supporting students post-
school
Program commenced in 2016:
• 30 workshops in most regions across Queensland
• 449 participants from state & non-state schools
• Just under half of all secondary schools

state – 94,200 (37% of national total) (12% SATS, 88% other)
• Qld has more than half of all SATs nationally - 11,100
• Most enrolled in 1or 2 quals only - mainly at Cert II level
• Queensland has nearly 3/4s of all school RTOs in Australia
