Veterans are people who serve or have
served in the military in times of war or
peace.

There are five branches in the United State Military. . .
United States Navy
The Navy patrols the oceans and water ways in large ships. It also has pilots that fly airplanes to help keep us safe!
United States Army
The Army helps keep us
safe on the ground. They have doctors and pilots to
help.
United States Marines
The Marines carry out
missions on land, sea, and air. They are usually the
first branch to help in large
conflicts.
United States Air Force
The Air Force keeps us safe by patrolling the airways.
United States Coast Guard
The Coast Guard protects
Americas’ coasts and
waterways…like the
Mississippi River. They also help
rescue people that are in
trouble in the water.

On Veterans Day we thank and honor those who served in the military.
What’s the correct way to spell Veterans Day?
Veterans Day does not have an apostrophe.
But it does include an "s" at the end of "veterans
It is not a day that "belongs" to veterans.
It is a day for honoring all veterans.
