Marching season has officially begun – look forward to hard work and great memories, both needed to have a successful season! Our first game is in just over a month and our first marching competition is shortly after. In preparation for this busy season this letter will outline some of the expenses you will see in the immediate future. The Booster organization is a non-profit group that supports the Screaming Eagle Band by contributing time and funds, but some fees are the responsibility of the student. Our favorite time of year is just around the corner – marching season! Our Screaming
Eagles will be hard at work putting together an amazing show for competition. It takes great
dedication from our students, directors, family, and friends to have a great season and your help is
needed!
Booster volunteers feed our students before every game and competition to keep their
energy up during games and limit poor nutrition choices late in the evening after games. A school
colored water jug is also provided to your student to keep them hydrated at all times. Feeding
over 100 students is a great undertaking both physically and financially. Even though we are part
of a great school district, the district is unable to provide food or funding for the students for
games. For the well-being of our students, ALL students will be provided meals and water.
Starting this semester, we are asking that all our students pay a meal & jug fee of
$65 if paid by MONDAY, AUGUST 28, 2017.
This amount will increase to $75 beginning Tuesday, August 29th.
Please make every effort to pay your student’s meal and jug fee before August 28th. All
checks (made out to VMHS Band Boosters) or cash should be given to Mr. Athey in an envelope
labeled with the student’s name and instrument. The Boosters will also have a table set up on
Friday, July 28th from 3:30PM-5PM to run payments by credit card*. Payments will not be
accepted over the phone, via text, or email.
We look forward to a great year and to working with you all! Please remember, volunteers
are always needed to assist in feeding the students before games and refilling water jugs during
games. Requests will be sent to the email address you are providing on the parent information
form so please feel free to sign up as often as you can.
