COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is designed for individuals who have two plus years’ experience in industries and

vibration analysis. This course will help professionals to understand vibration principles,

how to perform vibration analysis on machineries, Setup plant vibration data collection,

basic balancing and partial preparation for the Vibration Institute certification examination

category II.

He has about 20 years’ work experience in India and abroad in rotating machinery vibration

diagnostic studies, inspection, trouble shooting, and maintenance.

DAY ONE

• Machinery Vibrations – Physical nature of vibrations, Period, frequency, amplitude,

phase, measures, conversions, analysis, units, natural frequencies, forcing

frequencies, resonance, critical speeds, and damping.

DAY TWO

• Data Acquisition – Selection of measures, transducers, triggering devices, transducer

locations/mountings, frequency span and data display.

• Data Processing – Oscilloscopes, FFT Analyzers. Data Sampling, Aliasing, Windowing,

Dynamic Range, FFT Analyzer/Data Collector Setup.

DAY THREE

• Machine Condition Evaluation – Shaft Vibration, Bearing and Casing Vibration

• Fault Diagnostics – Operating speed, Rolling element bearings, Gearboxes, Electric

Motors, pumps, fans and compressors.

DAY FOUR

• Machine Testing – Test Plans, Selection of Test, Testing Equipment, Site inspection,

Baseline Test, Resonance, Critical Speed, Fault, Condition and Balance Test.

• Periodic Monitoring - Machinery Categorization, Measures and Selection, Frequency

of Data Collection, Trending, Alarms and Reporting

• Basic Balancing – Types of Unbalance, Balancing Pitfalls, Pre-Balancing Checks,

Vectors, Trial Weight Selections, Mass splitting and Consolidations.

MACHINERY VIBRATIONS ANALYSIS (MVA) - 04 DAYS COURSE, FEE - INR 45,000/-

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is designed for individuals who have three plus years’ experience in industries

and vibration analysis with valid Vibration Analyst Category-II certification holder. This

course will provide advanced skill and necessary knowledge to set up condition programs,

fault diagnostics, trouble shooting, in-situ singe plane balancing and partial preparation for

the Vibration Institute certification examination category III.

CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION

VIBRATION ANALYST CATEGORY - II

Those who have minimum of eighteen months experience and attended Vibration Institute

regular training course or equivalent ISO 18436-3 complaint courses or completed

correspondence courses from Vibration Institute – USA can appear Category – II

examination. The courses are not mandatory to appear examination, however it is

recommended to take equivalent ISO 18436-3 complaint courses to successful in the

examination. The Vibration Analysts Category – II are qualified to perform basic vibration

analysis, set-up instruments, and maintain a database of results.

The Category II certification examination is 100 multiple choice questions and candidates are

given three hours to complete the examination. In the examination day morning section

course review, doubts clarification and training test will be conducted. The actual

examination will be conducted in the afternoon section. For the successful candidate in

examination will receive ISO – 18436-2 and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

accredited certificate from Vibration Institute, USA.

The fee can be accepted only bank transfer or remitting to the bank account. For bank

VIBRATION ANALYST CATEGORY - III

Those who have minimum of three experience and attended Vibration Institute regular

training course or equivalent ISO 18436-3 complaint courses or completed correspondence

courses from Vibration Institute – USA can appear Category – II examination. The courses

are not mandatory to appear examination, however it is recommended to take equivalent

ISO 18436-3 complaint courses to successful in the examination. The Vibration Analyst

Category-III is qualified to perform condition monitoring programs, diagnostics of machines

including spectral, waveform, phase & orbit analysis, minor corrective actions involving

operating deflection shapes, single-plane balancing, and diagnostic testing.

The Category III certification examination is 100 multiple choice questions and candidates

are given four hours to complete the examination. In the examination day morning section

course review, doubts clarification and training test will be conducted. The actual

examination will be conducted in the afternoon section. For the successful candidate in

examination will receive ISO – 18436-2 and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Terms of Service

• The last date for registration is 45 days prior to regular training course and certification

examination.

• Fee shall be accepted wire transfer or direct deposit to account only. No cheque or DD

is accepted. For bank account details please send an email to

[email protected].

• We shall accept currency either Indian Rupees or US Dollar. Invoice will be send to the

candidate once the payment is confirmed.

• After registration, due to circumstances participant is decides cancellation should intimate via

email. The fee shall will be refunded with the following terms

� For cancellation 30 days prior to the course or examination starts date, 50% of the fee will

be imposed

� For cancellation 15 days prior to the course or examination start date, 75% of the fee will

be imposed

� For cancellation 7 days prior to the course or examination start date, 90% of the fee will be

imposed

� For those who not attending the course or examination, 100% of the fee will be imposed

• Course and exam can be cancelled or subject to change date, location and venue, if

unavailability of course instructor or no minimum required number of candidates (15

Nos) for the training course and examination. In such situation course or examination

full fee will be returned if the candidate decides not to take part in the re-scheduled

training course or examination.

• The course instructor and examination proctor will be Vibration Institute certified

Vibration Analyst Category – III or IV.

• The regular training course fee is inclusive of course instructor fee, travel fare, stay,

service tax, venue, course materials and shipping charges.

• The examination fee is inclusive of Vibration Institute examination fee, proctor fee,

proctor boarding & travel fare, venue, service tax, examination materials and certificate

shipping charges.

• The Category II & III certification examinations are 100 multiple choice questions and

candidates are given three hours (CAT-II) and four hours (CAT-III) to complete the

examination.

• Each question in the question paper will carry equal marks and 75 % is the pass grade.

The marks will not be disclosed by Vibration Institute as per policy however pass or fail

only informed to the candidate.

• The training course and examination will be conducted in reputed star hotel. The

candidate should arrange their own stay and it is not included in the fee.

• The candidate shall be informed about the exam results successful or unsuccessful in

three to four weeks from the date of examination once received from Vibration

Institute.

• For the successful candidate ISO-18436-2 & ANSI accredited certificate will be awarded

from Vibration Institute, USA. The unsuccessful candidate can appear re-test during

next schedule examination with nominal re-test fee plus administrative charges.

• The certification is valid for five years from the date of exam subject to renewal of

Vibration Institute membership annually.
