Duties of the Vice President

• Perform the duties of the president in the absence of the president

• Form committees

• Be the “Right Hand Man” to the president

• Serve as an ex-officio member on all committees

• Report on committee progress to board

Vice President Weekly Duties

• Follow up with committee chairs to verify progress

• Attend weekly club meetings

Vice President Monthly Duties

• Attend executive board meetings

• Attend committee meetings

• Collect monthly reports of committees and present them to the board

Filling in for the President

• Preside over meetings

• Create meeting agendas

• Send weekly updates to members

• Schedule executive board meetings

• Preside over executive board meetings

• Arrange service projects (unless you have a service committee)

How to Form Committees

• Decide what committees you want

• Announce open chair positions to club

• Hold nominations for chair positions or appoint chairs

• Hold elections for chair positions (unless you appoint chairs)

• Train new committee chairs

• Recruit committee members

Why Do Board Reports on Committees?

• Keeps executive board members “in the know” about committee happenings

• If the committee is having any issues, they can be addressed and resolved at this time

• If the committee needs help, you can seek the assistance of the executive board at this time

• Did the committees have any events? (If so, how did they go?)

• Did the committees have any meetings?

• Are the committees planning anything at this time?

• Do the committees need help with anything at this time?
