Victoria used to be a place you went ‘through’ rather than ‘to’ – there is ‘now’ a tangible buzz in the air in SW1 – Victoria is sexy, it’s vibrant and changing! After an exciting day working on the launch of the St. James’s Theatre I love to saunter along some of those charming Victoria streets – so many hidden gems!”

It’s like working in a village at the heart of the world’s greatest city. Enjoying a Friday night beer at the Phoenix after a busy week, it’s easy to forget that you’re just 3 minutes away from Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Green Park and the South Bank.”

There’s a hidden courtyard a couple of minutes from the office at 51 Buckingham Gate – a beautiful little sanctuary perfect for a summer cocktail or two by the fountain, surrounded by Victorian grandeur and a red-brick frieze of Shakespearean characters. It’s part of a hotel which also has a great little gym for stress relieving yoga classes. And I love walking past Buckingham Palace every morning to see what’s going on!”

It’s got it all. Victoria is so easy to get to, with overland and tube connections and at the same time once you’re here it really does offer a lot – gyms, restaurants, bars and even a few food markets. I love the place.”

Strutton Ground is an exciting market and brings so many different people to our coffee stall each day. We have the mad rush of people walking to work each morning, followed by the locals who come and buy their daily fruit and veg. It’s a great place to meet some fascinating characters in the area.”

Managing a pub in the heart of Victoria enables us to really get to know our locals. We are fortunate that we are nestled not only in an exciting ‘working’ area of Victoria but also surrounded by some lovely tree lined streets bringing in a constant stream of residents. I really enjoy the mix and the early evening conversations.”

Victoria is undergoing an exciting period of transformation.
Land Securities are creating new shops, offices and homes. There will be more open spaces and the bold and modern will sit comfortably next to the historic and distinguished. Victoria will overflow with creativity as new businesses join the existing creative heart that thrives here.
At Land Securities we believe a place is defined by its people. We are creating a vibrant new destination for Londoners to enjoy, people
from across the world to visit and somewhere that businesses and individuals are proud to call home.
Gradually the Victoria vision is coming to life. Already the buildings are changing. Some will be totally new, others will be reborn using innovative architecture.
Together we’ll create a Victoria that will be a stylish place to work, live and enjoy.
