po3er cord from the 3all outlet.
• Never try to heat< disassemble or short6circuit the rechareable

Warning: Notice concerning separation from the mains
In order to completely disconnect the charer from the mains<
unplu the po3er cord from the 3all outlet. The 3all outlet 3here
the charer is connected must be easy to access so that the po3er
cord can be pulled out :uic*ly in case of emerency. %nplu the
po3er cord from the mains 3hen it is not used for a 3hile /e..
3hen oin on holiday in order to avoid the daner of fire. 'o nothold the po3er cord 3ith 3et hands.
The charger consumes electricity in idle mode. To
avoid any kind of power consumption, you should
separate it from the mains. To do this, unplug the
mains plug from the wall outlet.

Insert the rechareable battery 3ith the correct polarity. Never

Cables
Al3ays hold cables by the plu and never pull on the cable itself.
Never hold the po3er cord 3ith 3et hands as this may cause a
short circuit or electric shoc*. Never place the device< heavy
obBects or furniture on the cable and ta*e care that the cord does
not become trapped< especially at the plu and soc*ets. Never
ma*e *nots in the cable and do not tie it toether 3ith other cables.
All cables should be positioned so that nobody can trip over them
or be obstructed by them. A damaed po3er cord can cause a fire
or an electric shoc*. Inspect the po3er cord from time to time. 'o
not use an adapter plu or e8tension cable that does not meet the

Charging the Batteries

Insert the rechareable battery in the charer cradle Technics6?)

the rechareable battery and charin tray mar*ins.
$a*e sure that the battery clic*s into place on the charer. Ne8t
connect the po3er cord to the charer and plu the po3er cord to a3all outlet.

Remove the rechargea"le "attery from the

The status indicator of the charin cradle 3ill liht orane 3hilst
the battery is charin. hen the charin process is completed<
the status indicator 3ill liht reen. >ou can then insert the
rechareable battery into the camcorder. 'ependin on the chare
level< the charin cycle can ta*e up to + hours.$f, after inserting the rechargea"le "attery, the
indicator remains green, this means the
rechargea"le "attery is already charged or it is not
correctly inserted. $n this case, check the polarity.
1ou can also charge the camcorder "attery "y
leaving it in the camcorder and connecting the
camcorder to the computer "y using the %+!23ca"le. To do this, proceed as descri"ed in steps 4#5
on page 66 7 %sing the %+! Port. $f you keep the
camcorder powered off after the %+! ca"le has "een
connected to the computer, the "attery will charge.
The power indicator (/) will light red to indicate that
the camcorder "attery is "eing charged via the
computer. 3s soon as the "attery is fully charged, theindicator stops lighting. To charge the "attery via the
computer takes appro8. 5 hours.

hen the battery is fully chared< insert it into the camcorder as
indicated belo3.

camcorder storae capacity for savin your videos and photos.
hen a memory card is inserted< all the recorded contents 3ill be
saved onto it. If there is no memory card inserted< your photos and
videos 3ill be saved to the internal memory of the camcorder.

for3ards into the card slot. The label must face to3ards the
riht panel of the camcorder housin. Slide the card fully into
the slot openin until the card clic*s into place.
-. Close the memory card compartment by closin the cover and
carefully pressin on it until it clic*s into place.
To remove the memory card< open the memory card compartment
and ently press on the inserted card. This 3ill protrude a little so
that you can et a hold of it and remove it.
$f the memory card or the internal memory is full, the
message Memory full will appear on the display.
The video "eing currently recorded will "e saved and
the recording will "e cancelled.
9rite#Protecting the :emory ard
The memory card features a 3rite6protection tab. hen the 3rite
protection is enabled /see the riht fiure you 3ill only be able to
vie3 e8istin videos and pictures< but not delete or edit them. Also<
it 3ill not be possible to record any ne3 videos or pictures onto the
memory card.

This device features a macro function allo3in you to focus on very
close subBects. This allo3s you to position the lens as close as +06
+1 cm /76# inches from the subBect. The macro s3itch /1& is
located on the top panel of the device.
Slide the s3itch to the left to enable the macro mode. Slide the
s3itch to the riht to disable the macro mode.
