1 Preliminary meeting with Counsel Physiotherapist Care Specialist etc regarding objectives and requirements for the video as well as addressing any special circumstances or considerations regarding the subject and to create a schedule

2 Arranging clearances and permissions from any locations that may require such permission (School Malls Businesses etc)

3 Confirmation of the videotaping schedule

4 Shoot the Video Depending upon matters discussed at the preliminary meeting it isadvisable to have counsel andor the care specialist attend during the videotaping

5 Reviewing the camera footage and editing Following the videotaping a DVD orVHS copy of the footage with the time-of-day-code embedded within the video is made for counsel to review to facilitate the selection of shots for the edited version if required

6 The original footage is edited to create a new ldquoEdited Masterrdquo videotape based on the Edit Decision List provided by counsel The edited version is made for thepurposes of courtroom playback convenience only The original camera footage remains intact and available should it be required

7 Courtroom playback master A DVD or VHS copy of the final edited version is made for use in the courtroom This provides protection for the master in case further copies are required Duplicate VHS tapes or DVDrsquos can be made at any time

Special NotesDay-in-the-Lifersquos can be a stressful endeavour for the injured and their families It issuggested that in catastrophic injury cases that videotaping be broken down intoshort logical segments spaced out over a period of days In many cases we maysuggest videotaping of activities such as bathing dressing and otherpersonal activities in which the family and injured party may request a specific maleor female camera operator In all cases we will conduct ourselves with the utmost incare and sensitivity
