Welcome to the VIDEX online system, which is designed to enter your data for a Schengen visa by the German Embassy in Tashkent.
We would like to make it as easy as possible for you to use the VIDEX system. Therefore, we will provide you with all the necessary information below to use the system and on further actions regarding your visa application.
Please, read carefully the following information and only then start entering your application data into the VIDEX system!
When can the VIDEX system be used?
The VIDEX system can only be used for getting a short-term visa - entry into the Schengen area and stay there for up to 90 days (“Schengen visa”).
Unfortunately, entering data for obtaining visas for longer stays (e.g. study, work, family reunion) using the VIDEX system is impossible. In such cases, we ask you to contact the German Embassy in Tashkent.
Technical requirements:
You need the following equipment and software to work with the VIDEX system:
• Microsoft Windows;
• Firefox 8.0 or Internet Explorer 8;
• Adobe Acrobat Reader 10;
• Printer.
Data entry preparation
If information is not entered within 10 minutes after starting of the process, all entered data will be automatically ERASED. Therefore, we recommend that you prepare all the necessary documents before entering data:
• your travel document,
• which must be valid for at least three months after the end of the planned trip;
• which was issued (extension is not taken into account!) No more than 10 years ago;
• the plan for your trip or your flights;
• the address in Germany;
• confirmation of hotel room reservation, if any;
• an invitation, if any.
Filling out an application
Language selection
Choose the language in which you will be asked questions. After you start entering answers to questions, you cannot change the language anymore! Changing the language during data entry will delete already entered data!
Valid characters
Please, fill out the application in Latin letters only and full. The applications which are not contain Latin letters cannot be stored in memory and printed out.
In addition to ordinary Latin characters, the following are also allowed: “Ä Ö Ü ß. + -, '”. In the fields where the email address is entered, the use of the “@” symbol is also possible.
Entering Calendar Dates
In the fields where the calendar date is entered, write it in accordance with the Gregorian calendar in the following format please
dd.mm.yyyy (“day” [2 digits]. “month” [2 digits]. “year” [4 digits]). ‘Point’ must be set between day, month and year accordingly.
Storing application in computer memory
You have the opportunity to save the completed application in the memory of your computer. You must enter your last name and date of birth to do this. Data is stored in the memory of your computer in the folder where downloaded files from the Internet are usually saved. If you want to save the application in another place, you have to select a different folder in your browser.
Print out the visa application
In order to print your application, you must fill out it completely. After filling, you have to click "NEXT". After clicking, the system will ask for a permission to "download the file in PDF format." Depending on settings, the file will either open automatically, or it will be saved in the folder where the files you download from the Internet are usually saved.
The following documents are printed:
• visa application (please sign!);
• confirmation in accordance with section 54 (2) 8 in conjunction with section 53 of the German Stay Act (please sign!);
• barcodes with VIDEX- encoded application data.
Completion of data entry for visa application
Online visa application is not possible. The application can be submitted to the relevant foreign mission exclusively or to an external service organization acting on behalf of the foreign mission.
Please, bring the following documents to apply:
• visa application (please sign!);
• confirmation in accordance with section 54 (2) 8 in conjunction with section 53 of the German Stay Act (please sign!);
• barcodes with VIDEX encoded application data;
• other documents attached to the application depending on the type of visa requested;
• You can find information on this on the website of the relevant German representative office of Germany.
Competent Foreign Office of Germany
The competent German foreign representative office is the one, where the consular district of your place of permanent residence is located.
How to fill out an online Schengen visa application form?
In order to fill out a questionnaire in Russian, you need transliterate ("translate" Russian letters into Latin) according to the following table:

If the site was opened in another language, the first step is to select the language you need! Only this way you can print the questionnaire in the necessary language.
General directions and recommendations
Fill out the application in Uzbek, Russian, English or German. Other languages are not needed. The questionnaire is filled out in Latin letters only (including German umlauts: ä = ae, ü = ue, ö = oe), numbers, in the email fields: @ (Here we are talking about the information that you write as text. It does not apply to fields where the information is selected from the list).
All dates are written in the following format: dd.mm.yyyy - day (2 digits). month (2 digits).year (4 digits) through the a "dot".
Section "Personal Data".
Surname (surnames):
As in the passport in Latin letters only.
If the surname in the passport is hyphenated, then the hyphen.
Surname (surnames) at birth (former / former surnames):
If you have never changed your last name, leave this field empty.
Otherwise, all previous names are entered with a space.
If the name in the passport is hyphenated, then the hyphen.
The place of birth:
The birthplace indicated in the passport is written.
Country of birth:
Please note that in this graph it is required to indicate the place of your birth not your citizenship!
As “USSR” is not on the list, instead of “USSR”, selected the country where the birthplace is located today (Tashkent - Uzbekistan, etc.).
In order to fill in the field “Country of Birth” correctly, rely on the supporting table “Cities and countries” (follow the pop-up link by pressing the Ctrl key).
Gender:
The gender specified how is written in the passport. If "x" is indicated in the passport or there is no indication (third gender), select "not known."
Family status:
It is always chosen, even in newborns.
Before the first marriage - “Single / Single”. After the first marriage, this option should never be indicated again.
“Living separately from spouse” - if you are married, but have ended your family relationship forever and do not live together.
A “registered partnership” is a gay marriage.
The present citizenship:
Indicate all citizenships that you have. If you have only one citizenship, indicate it once only in the leftmost field.
Original citizenship (at birth), if it different from the above:
If you had another citizenship, indicate that one.
If you were born until 1991 inclusive, and you had USSR citizenship, you do not choose anything here.
Family members of EU and EEA or Switzerland citizens (husband/wife, child, or dependent relative in an ascending line) may refuse to give information about their professional activities, a certificate of the inviting person/organization and their stay and financing to exercise the right to free movement.
If you belong to this group of people and do not want to give information, mark "Yes". The degree of your relationship should be confirmed by relevant documents.
Parents (or a person with parental / guardian rights)
The field is to filled out exclusively if the applicant is under 18 years old at the time of submitting the documents. When the corresponding date is entered in the “Date of birth” field of the previous section, the section opens for filling.
Information about parents is entered according to their passports. If it is impossible it should be done according to the birth certificate on the rules of transliteration. If parents are deprived of parental rights it is necessary to indicate the data of the guardians in this case. Information on both parents / guardians is required. If the second parent / guardian is absent, leave the field blank.
Parent / Guardian Address
If the parents do not live together than indicate the (actual) address of the parent whose address is different from the child.

Company name and phone number (the name and address of the institution for students): Indicate the official name using the transliteration. The phone number of the organization is recommended to be indicated in the “Additional address information:” field.
Section “Applicant’s address”
The address of the actual residence is indicated here.
Street:
The full name of the street, according to the rules of transliteration. If there is no street, N/A is indicated.
House number:
House, building, apartment (Example: 31 5 2). Only numbers are entered with a space.
Other address information:
Indicate the region, territory, republic if it is necessary.
Postal code:
6 digits. If there is no index - put N/A.
Town/City:
The name of the settlement, according to the rules of transliteration.
Country:
The country of actual residence is indicated.
Telephone:
Here indicate the mobile phone number, together, without the signs “()”, “-”, “+”, starting from 00.
Email:
Indicate the email address. If there is no address, then leave the field empty.
Section "Details regarding the right to reside in place of residence"
For citizens of all countries except the Republic of Uzbekistan, “YES” is marked.
Type of right of return ID CARD:
The words "registration" or "residence permit" are prescribed in accordance with the rules of transliteration.
Return Entry / Residence Number: nothing to fill
"Valid until" - expiration date of the validity.
Section "Documents"
Category of passport or other travel document:
A “Ordinary passport” is selected in most cases.
Passport or other travel document number:
Enter here the number of the travel document without spaces and signs №.
Here you need enter the number of the travel document without any spaces and marks.
National Identification Number (if applicable):
During filling out the application leave the field blank.
Date of issue, valid until:
We enter the data according to the passport in the format dd.mm.yyyy.
Issuing state:
Choose the country that issued the passport.
Issued by:
Just like in the passport, using transliteration.
Example: instead of ‘MIA 26266’ -> contribute MIA; instead of ‘IIB’ -> use SPC.
Issued in:
We indicate the city where the passport was issued.
Example: Tashkent city - TASHKENT, Bukhara region - BUKHARA REGION, etc.
Section "Biometric data"
Have your fingerprints been already recorded in order to obtain a Schengen visa? Marked “YES” if they were. In addition, the date of the prints submition is indicated.
Section "Travel Data"
The main purpose(s) of the journey:
You have to specify the actual purpose(s) of the trip from the list.
Member State of first entry:
Select from the list the country of the Schengen agreement you planned to enter the Schengen countries through.
Main travel destination(s):
Select from the list of Schengen countries that you are going to visit. The very first is Germany (even if you go to another Schengen country in front of Germany), then another ones.
Number of entries requested:
Single entry - allows the owner to enter the Schengen country once only during a certain period of time. After leaving the Schengen agreement country you entered, the visa will expire even if the period of stay in the country has not completed yet.
Two entries - valids the same as mentioned single entry visa. Permission to enter the country of the Schengen agreement twice means that during the time specified by the visa, you can enter the country of the Schengen agreement without any problems, leave it, and enter again. The visa will expire after the second departure from the country.
Multiple entries - allows the owner to enter the Schengen country many times. This visa allows the holder to stay in the Schengen area for no more than 90 days for six (6) months, starting from the day the border is crossed between the Schengen country and the non-Schengen country.
Intended date of arrival in the Schengen area:
Indicate the start date of the requested visa.
If there is a valid non-departure visa and departure is planned for the period of its validity, then it is necessary to request a back-to-back visa with it.
For example: there is a visa until 19/06/2019, departure is planned from 11/06/2019 to 28/06/2019, then the application form must be indicated on 20/06/2019. Thus, departure - on a valid visa, and return on a new visa. If you want to leave on a new visa, then you need to apply for the cancellation of a valid visa and request from 11/06/2019.
Intended date of departure from the Schengen area:
The expiration date of the requested visa is indicated. Up to six months - any dates are set.
If the requested visa is from six months to a year (i.e. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 months) - the dates should be rounded up to 6 months minus 1 day.
If a visa is requested for more than a year (for example, a year and 7 months), the end dates should be rounded off by a year minus one day or 2 years minus 1 day, etc. up to 5 years.
The passport has to be valid for at least 3 MONTHS after the validity of the requested visa.
Duration of planned stay or transit:
The number of days that you are actually planning to spend in Schengen countries is indicated. When applying for a long-term visa, the maximum value is 90 days (even if you request a visa for 2 years, write 90, because staying in the Schengen area only in 90 out of every 180 days legally).
Schengen visas issued in the last three years:
The date of the last Schengen visa is indicated in the format “day-month-year”.
Section "Permission to enter the last destination country"
This section is filled out only for of the “Transit” trip. The type of document is selected, its number, expiration date and name of the country of final destination are indicated.
In case of departure to the country where you do not need a visa, in the "Type of entry permit" column, select "Other" from the drop-down list, then "N / A" in the next two items, and the main destination country is selected from the list and date of filling out the application.
Section "Reference"
The surety is selected from the list depending on the purpose of the trip:

Indicate the official name, including abbreviations, such as "GMBH", etc. The name is taken from the invitation / hotel booking, etc.
In case of a staying at several hotels, the data of the FIRST hotel in Germany is entered! In the case of a cruise, its name is prescribed.
The contact person:
It is necessary to indicate the address of the contact person in Germany, from the invitation / hotel reservation / extract from the land register (Grundbuch), etc.
Hotel booking number:
Hotel reservation number in case of reservation from Booking.com.
Address:
It is written similarly to the "Home Address" section, the Index WITHOUT any letters (only digits). If the invitation contains an address not in Germany, then the address is taken from the hotel booking!
If there is no contact information, N/A is entered: BUT: if the destination city in Germany is known, it is indicated in the corresponding field.

After filling out the online application
1. Save the entered information on your computer by clicking on “Save” in the lower right corner! In the up window, click “Save” again the type of file proposed by the VIDEX system and select the folder on your computer where you usually save the file.
Thus, you can use this data when you plan to request the next visa by uploading the saved file through the “Import Data” (in the upper left corner) by changing the necessary information (for example: travel dates, etc.).
You can also use them to apply for a family member or colleague who travels with you, changing only personal data.
2. Once again check all entered information carefully. Employees of the Visa Department correct dozens of mistakes of applicants in processing the application daily. But they may not see all the mistakes. All issues, including those, arising at the border, due to your own mistakes in the questionnaire, the responsible person is only yourself!
3. Print an application.
In order to do this, click "Continue" in the lower right corner. After checking your data, the server creates a PDF file, that you can also save on your computer and then print on any printer.
4. Check everything again, this time in the printed application form!
5. In paragraph 37 of the application - usually on page 4 - and on pages 6 and 7, the applicant signs himself (in the case of infants - his legal representative - parent (s) / guardian (s)) in the "signature" field.
In paragraph 36, as well as in the fields "place and date" on pages 6-7, the city is written, where and what day (dd.mm.yyyy) you sign the questionnaire on.
