It gives me immense pleasure to share with you the happenings in the school through Anubhuti. During this period, from April 17 to August 17 the Board results for X and XII were received and once again our students have performed exceedingly well.
It was proud privilege for the school to receive the World Education Award-th2017 during 10 World Education Summit at New Delhi for use of ICT in
School Management.
Keeping pace with the latest in the school education, VIS has given itself a task of being first Digital school of the city. The school has introduced Learning Management Solution 'Moodle' which provided options to the teachers to choose the best content available to provide quality education.
Six students of our school have received Bronze Level in IAYP programme under the aegis of Duke of Edinburgh.
Response to 'Flinnt App' has been tremendous; I thank you for the same.
I will request parents and guardians to apprise themselves on change in the Examination policy of students from class VI onwards. The revised policy requires sustained and serious involvement of your ward in Academics.

Vidhyashram International School was felicitated with 'elets-
World Education Award-2017' for “Use of ICT in School thManagement” during 10 World Education Summit held on 11-12
August 2017 at Le-Meridian, New Delhi. This award is given for
the use of following four ICT (Information and communication
technology) practices in school

During the summit, CEO's, Directors, Vice-Chancellors, Principal, Teachers and School Owners from India and 15
foreign countries participated. There was an expo displaying various innovations in the field of education. This
award reflects our innovative and progressive approach towards education.
uIzabel Tom of class-VIII has secured International Rank 149 and zonal Rank 7 in Rajasthan Zone in the th7 SOF- International English Olympiad competition held in January 2017.

ACADEMICSv April 03, 2017: New Academic Session 2017-18
New academic session commenced on 3 April 2017. The campus bustled with activities with the arrival of
some fresh faces and some old ones in new uniforms, books and bubbling enthusiasm. The teachers and the
academic heads guided the young students to their new wings, class rooms and apprised them according to
rules. The classes, corridors were decorated and the entire VIS family looked forward to have one more
glorious academic year of hopes, dreams and achievements.

22 February 2017: Live Conference Activity
Mr. Saini, Dean, ICFAI University Jaipur, addressed and
motivated students of class X about the advantages of learning
Programming and to opt it as a subject to sharpen their analytical
and logical skills.
VIS was blessed with yet another visit of a dignitary, the
famous ghazal singer, Padam Shri Pankaj Udhaas. The renowned
playback singer and musician visited the school and spent some
glorious moments with the staff members. He expressed his joy and gratitude and applauded the efforts of
the institution in providing a platform for the wholesome development of students' personality. He added
that music is a wonderful gift of God and gives immense mental peace. He spoke motivating words of
encouragement by humming few lines of some of his very popular numbers. He also felicitated Mrs. Shilpee
Kothari, Mrs. Dimple Jangid, Mrs. Gauri Puri and Mr. Amit Tanwar for their outstanding contribution to

v April 12, 2017: Birthday Card Making Activity :
All the students took active part in Birthday Card Making Activity. Most of their creation was beautiful
and artistic. They were provided the material and time to design the cards.
v April 18, 2017: Special Assemblies and Earth Day :
Special assemblies were organised in the school campus
in support of the World Heritage Day and International
Earth Day. Children were made aware about the importance
of protecting and preserving our valuable heritage and to
appreciate the need for conserving our Mother Earth. A
special environment pledge was taken by the school to
recycle, restore the habitat and conserve it for the future
generations. A special skit was also presented to inculcate
the habit of recycling and planting trees and inspire
environment protection.
v May 01, 2017: International Labour Day :
The International Labour Day in Vidhyashram School is celebrated to honor the contribution of working men
and women. Following its annual tradition, the school organized a special assembly to felicitate its workers by
recognizing their efforts as an important part of its success and journey. In the function, childrenrecited poems,
presented special songs and a heart touching skit to pay tribute to the labour staff.

vMay 01, 2017: Kathak Dance
Keeping up its vision to make education more holistic and meaningful, a classical dance performance was
organised in collaboration with SPICMACAY. The renowned Kathak dancer of International fame, Divya Dixit
Goswami gave an inspiring performance in the school amphitheatre. Her compositions steeped in deep
understanding of history, mythology and spirituality and such performances help students to be more
aware about Indian and world heritage.
vMay 09, 2017: Campaign of Water Conservation
Rotary Club of Jodhpur Padmini launched their new
campaign of Water Conservation in association with
Welcome Hotel Jodhpur by ITC. The chief guest, Member
of Parliament Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and his
wife Smt. Naunand Shekhawat unveiled the theme 'Jitni
Pyaas Utni Glass', to create awareness that every drop of
water counts. Over 30 leading Hoteliers, Restauranteurs
and Event Organisers of Jodhpur have come forward and
pledged their support in this endeavour. All of them
were given personalized Table Talkers and Posters with
the message JITNI PYAAS UTNI GLASS for placing on their tables to spread awareness, and certificates of
appreciation for joining hands with Rotary Club of Jodhpur Padmini. A small video presentation was also
screened to stress upon the issue. The student members of the Interact Clubs of VIS put up musical
performances to show the significance of water conservation

vMay 09, 2017: Scouts Adventure Camp at Mount Abu
Twenty Scouts of VIS actively participated in the most awaited State Level Adventure Camp at Mount Abu
from 5-9 May'17. At the camp they were enriched with the information about various activities related to
Scout such as Rifle Shooting, Horse Riding, Night tracking etc. They also had a wonderful sojourn to different
places of historical importance such as Delwara Temple, Achalgarh and Guru Shikhar. The young Scouts had
an experience for a life time.
v14 July 2017: Art of Living Rudrabhishekh Puja
Rudra Puja was conducted in the school campus. This initiative is taken by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, his
Art of Living Foundation and Vidhyashram School. Gurudev being a humanitarian and spiritual teacher has a
vision of a stress-free, violence-free society. The devout pious ceremony went on in the school campus for
about two hours in which the Principal Staff Members and students took an active part. In Rudra puja the
Shiva-tatwa is invoked in all its grandeur and the devotees get immersed in the vibrations of ancient Sanskrit
chants and mantras.

v15 July 2017: Photography Exhibition
The school attended the photography exhibition Chitra
Chaukhat held in Mehrangarh Fort with some of their
young, talented students along with the art teacher. It is
the first comprehensive exhibition where both novice
and professional artists presented their innovative
work. The exhibition showcased pictures of national
and international historical monuments, natural
wonders and portraits clicked with both traditional and
contemporary techniques.
v28 July 2017: IIMUNthIIMUN, Jodhpur chapter organized its meet from 28 to
th30 July 2017 at DPS Pali Road Jodhpur. More than 500
delegates from various institution participated in this
meet. The students participated as official delegates of
various countries. They conducted researches and
learnt about various issues concerning the states they
were allotted. Thereafter they debated with the official
student delegates of other countries on the prepared
topics. 16 students from VIS took part out of which four
students got recognition in various categories.
v26 July 2017: Hand Made Rakhi
VIS welcomed some children from Navjyoti Manovikas
Kendra, a twenty five years old institution for especially
abled children with autism, cerebral Palsy, mental
retardation of many kinds. They set up a stall in the
school campus of some aesthetically handmade Rakhis
which was an instant hit among school students and
staff members. Interaction with them was a source of
huge inspiration for everyone and school was proud to
have encouraged these special children.

vMay 05, 2017: PTM (Parents Orientation)
The first PTM of the new academic session was held on
the last working day of the school. The parents were
apprised of their wards' performance and the Holiday
Homework was handed over. A Parents Orientation
Programme was also arranged by the school to brief the
parents about rules, regulations of discipline, uniform
and schedules of examinations. Parents' queries and
grievances were redressed by the academic heads and
the concerned teachers. The school's resource person
Mrs Ritu Kumar, an experienced motivator, counsellor
and consultant, presided over the programme and addressed the parents. Such programmes are especially
welcomed by the parents of new admissions as it helps them to understand the school's expectations, vision
and goal.
vMay 08, 2017: Workshop on Uniform System of Assessment
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to implement Uniform System of Assessment,
Examination and Report Card for Class 6-9. In view of the above, a workshop was organized in Vidhyashram
School to upgrade the teachers on the newly introduced assessment system. The resource person Dr. Jyoti
Kathju, An Education Facilitator and ELT Consultant, apprised the teachers about the schemes for classes VI-
VIII which has been designed on term assessment basis with gradual increase in learning assessment as the
students move forward. Such workshops prepare the staff to ensure the 'quality of education'.
vMay 08, 2017: Workshop on Smart Class
Vidhyashram believes in transforming traditional
classrooms into engaging, learner-centric environment by
integrating state-of-the-art technology, infrastructure and
professionally-developed multimedia learning modules. A
workshop was organized in the school by Extramarks
Smart Class and Assessment center, which is being used in
the school classrooms regularly. The resource person, Mr.
Abhishek Mundra, presided to review the modules and
clear any uncertainties among the teaching staff, regarding its usage. The school is committed to make the
learning process easy, effective and engaging.
v15 July 2017: Workshop on Health and Hygiene
Health education plays an important role in the community
hygiene and there is a pressing need to have correct and
complete knowledge of health. An informative workshop was
organised at VIS for the staff members to prevent illness and
have positive health attitude. The resource person Mr. Rakesh
Nihal, who runs Gau Samvardhan Ashram, highlighted the fact
that hygiene is a concept related to cleanliness, health, medicine,
as well as to personal and professional care practices.
v24 July 2017: Workshop on Academic Activities
VIS welcomed Mr. SP Verma, Director at VITD, Regional Director, IDC,
Advisor Counseling – IEF. In order to gain from his immense and vast
knowledge the school invited him for a thorough audit of all the
academic activities, to look into each step in teaching-learning
process, school policies and procedures, in the process empowering
the teaching team. His suggestions enabled the school to look into
the areas, where there is a scope for improvement.
v17 July 2017: Canon Photography Workshop
Students of VIS participated in the informative workshop on photography. The
workshop was an initiative towards creating photography culture among
youth, organized by Canon India Private Limited (CIPL). The students were
given tips on Intermediate Photography by professional photographers which
were a lifetime experience for these children. The event lasted for several
hours and student participants were awarded the certificates in the end.

To celebrate Rainy Season, ‘Umbrella Art Competition-2017’ was organized by Kalp Chitrakala Parishad at
Veer Durgadas Samiti Hall, Masooriya Hill, Jodhpur. Six students of class-XII (Fine Arts) participated from
VIS. Ms. Tejaswani Jodha got the consolation prize.

vApril 11, 2017: Special Assembly
The school celebrated Mahaveer Jayanti and Ambedkar Jayanti by organizing special assemblies. Short
speeches and poems were delivered by the students of class X to commemorate the occasion. The academic

vMay 05, 2017: Special Assembly for Best Class and Best Driver
The school does all it can to promote road safety for children on the school journey. The aim is to raise
awareness among the school transport operators, to reduce journey risk and improve the safety of children
travelling to and from school. The school on Friday conducted a special assembly to felicitate outstanding
school drivers for their honest hard work.

v4 July 2017: Star Assembly
The Star Assembly was conducted in the school to encourage and recognize star students from each class.
The stars were pinned upon the proud students by their academic heads on the basis of good academics and
show of discipline. Some of the staff members were also felicitated as star teachers to recognize their continuous efforts & dedication towards the school. The delight achieves of 10 CGPA of Class 10 were also
felicitated and these role models were promised 10 percent discount in their tuition fee as a mark of

v5 July 2017: House Meet
The first house meet of the session was conducted in the school premises, and the respective houses elected
their house captains, vice captains for the current academic year. The children participated in full fervor to
vote for their favourite candidates and choose their leaders. The houses also elected their Discipline In
charges and other important office bearers.
v10 July 2017: Chess Activity
It is always good to indulge children into brain teasers as it not
only sharpens their mental calibre but also entertains them.
Keeping this in mind a Chess Competition was organized for Class
V students. Children of all the houses viz. Ganga, Yamuna, Krishna

v12 July 2017: Sports Events
The students of all the four houses Krishna, Kaveri,
Ganga and Yamuna entered into the spirit of the
occasion in a grand way. High quality of sports
contributes to a range of outcomes for young people.
Wednesday morning witnessed students competing
with each other and cheering their respective houses.
Students of classes VI to XII competed in events
including baseball and basketball and students of
middle wing showcased their skills in Kabaddi and
kho-kho.
v13 July 2017: Inter House Sports Matches
At Vidhyashram School Campus today, the students competed for their houses against their peers at Inter
House Sports Matches. Boys from the classes IX to XII took part in handball team and girls in basketball team
played some challenging matches. The result was very close where Ganga and Krishna qualified in the
preliminary rounds. The Middle Wing students too stretched their legs and took part in Kho Kho and

Independence Day was celebrated in the school to mark 71st year of freedom from the British rule. The programme
started with the flag hoisting by our honourable chairman Shri V.K. Jain. Special assembly was conducted by class
IX C. Cultural programme filled the air with nationalistic feel and enthusiasm. A choir of students presented a
melodious patriotic parody by the fusion of different musical instruments. Patriotic rendition sung by students of
primary section charged up the atmosphere with patriotic spirit. The dance performances of the four houses
showcased the ethos and cultural spirit of different states of India. The day became more auspicious with the
celebration of Janmashtmi. Master Surendra Singh, finalist of Indian Idol, enthralled the audience by his melodious
Krishna Bhajan. Soul touching melodious shabad was sung by Master Jaskaran. The investiture ceremony was held
with lots of zeal and zest. The elected leaders were conferred with badges and sashes. The students' council took an
oath to live up to the expectations and work in sync with the mission of the school. Students of class 12th were
felicitated for their outstanding performance in Board exams. Certificates were given to students who excelled in
IIMUN.

vMay 12, 2017: Art of Living
"Unless we have a stress-free mind and a violence-
free society, we cannot achieve world peace." The
teachings, programmes and philosophy of peace of
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shanker are followed in VIS
regularly. To help its staff get rid of stress and
experience inner peace, the school offers 'The Art of
Living' stress-elimination programs which include
breathing techniques, meditation and yoga.
Absorbing new staff into the system, a training
session of Sudarshan Kriya is organized in the school, which is a powerful yet simple rhythmic breathing
technique that incorporates specific natural rhythms of the breath, harmonizing the body, mind and
emotions.

vMay 12, 2017: Staff Club
The Vidhyashram School Staff Club hosted a small get together party before breaking off for summer
vacation. Letting their hair down, the teachers enjoyed each other's company over tea, yummy snacks and
fun filled party games. The Staff Club Secretary, Mrs. Shilpee Kothari, made sure each staff member
participates and tapped some wonderful talents. They spent some delightful time with their staff members
and wished each one of them Happy Holidays.
vMay 12, 2017: Friendly Cricket Match
Vidhyashram hosted a friendly cricket match among its staff members in the school playground. The match
enthralled the spectators and the players alike and even the scorching heat could not dampen the spirit and
enthusiasm. Both Male and Female staff participated enthusiastically and one has to agree that such
activities in the campus help to break the ice between school employees and bring them out of their
monotonous routine of teaching and class rooms.

v27 June 2017: International Award for Young People (IAYP) Award Leader Training Workshop
The International Award for Young People (IAYP) is the most adaptable and successful youth empowerment
program. IAYP, India, is taking the initiative to create awareness among the students in Schools and colleges
for the award. The Program is a non-competitive program which involves completion of the planned tasks
and compulsory adventurous camp. Keeping this in mind an Award Leader Training Workshop was
organized by IAYP on 27-June-2017 to 28-June-2017 at Asian Games Village Complex, New Delhi.
Representatives from VIS. (Mr. Karan Singh Jodha and Mr. Hitesh Rajendra Neve) along with twenty two
other participants from various other schools from across INDIA attended the workshop.
vApril 24, 2017: Exhibiting Talent
To bring out the creativity and artistic talent among the students, the Primary Wing
provides opportunities to the students to showcase their talents. In one such activity
on Tuesday students showed their innate talent in drawing and proved in exhibiting
their skills by their creative presentation.
v4 July 2017: Planting a Tree is like Planting a Hope
Taking this motto in stride, a remarkable step has been taken by VIS to educate
children about the importance of plants and trees. On the occasion of Van Mahotsava
students of class III planted 101 saplings with the help of their teachers and
gardeners. This thoughtful initiative is taken by the Academic Head of Primary Wing
to impart values of trees, greenery, nature and educate children about the ill effects of
deforestation especially in urban areas.
v7 July 2017: Spell Bee and International English Olympiad
VIS has constantly encouraged its students to actively participate in various competitive tests. Today's assembly was
held to felicitate the students who bagged appreciation letters and certificates in competitive tests viz. Spell Bee and
International English Olympiad. Dhairya Mittal of Class IV secured 20th position in English Olympiad organized at the
state level wherein 42,800 schools of 1400 cities had participated. Medals were also awarded to Anushka, Bhavya
Chauhan, Yashvi Bhati, Khushal and Anirudh Singh of class III C, III E, IV B, IV C, IV D respectively for their
commendable performance in Spell Bee International.

v15 July 2017: Workshop on First Aid Awareness
Students of Class IV visited Medical Room during the school hours. First Aid items which are used in daily
life were demonstrated to them. They were very keen and excited. They were shown various techniques to
handle emergency situations.
v28 July 2017: Nest Making Activity
Nest making Activity was done by student of class-III.
They used dry leaves, grass, coconut fibres, twigs
cotton, thread, and clay to make nests. The students
enjoyed the activity and displayed their imagination
and creativity doing the same.

v29 July 2017: Memory and Oratory Skills Activity
A recitation competition was held in the primary wing where
the toddlers once again showcased their memory and oratory
skills by reciting some very interesting poems on the chosen
topics Friendship and Seasons. The children showed amazing
confidence, elocutionary skills and won the hearts of both
judges and audience.
v4 August 2017: Rakshabandhan Celebration
To celebrate the auspicious occasion of “Rakshabandhan” nearly 250 students of class III visited “Navjyoti
Manovikas Kendra” an institute for special children. All the students prepared Rakhis for these less
privileged children and distributed sweets to them. They also explained the importance of this festival and
recited some beautiful poems & songs.
vAugust 11, 2017: Yugpurush - Mahatma na Mahatma, was staged in the amphitheater of VIS in
association with Rotary Club Padmini, in the celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Shrimad
Rajchandraji. Yugpurush is not only a play, but it is the experience of heart-touching portrayal of the spiritual
relationship between Gandhiji and Shrimadji, who was
Gandhiji's inspiration and spiritual mentor. Apart from
Vidhyashram students and staff members, 600 children and
audience from other institutions, also witnessed the historic
show. Originally a Gujrati play, written by Uttam Gada and
directed by Rajesh Joshi, it is produced by Shrimad Rajchandra
Mission, and now adapted in several other languages including
English and Hindi. It won the Best Drama award at the 16th
Annual Transmedia Gujarati Screen and Stage Awards 2016.
An excellent play was staged by Mr. Shreyas Raje and his group.
Mr. Shreyas Raje played the part of Mahatma Gandhi in his
middle ages and was the lead artist. The play was thoroughly
enjoyed by one and all. He was interviewed by VIS students.
Here are the excerpts of the interview :
Q. Mr. Shreyas Raje, that was an excellent play by your group.
Do accept my compliments?
A. Thank you Anmol. I am glad you all enjoyed it.
Q. How long have your team been practicing for this play?
A. We have been practicing for 20 days.
Q. Since when have you been acting in plays?
A. I have been acting in plays since I was in fourth standard.
Q. Wow! That's' amazing! Have you acted in any movie too?
A. Yes, besides numerous plays, I have acted in three movies
namely Yaari Dosti, Babanchi Shah and Bioscope.
Q. When did you join this group?
A. I joined this group in April 2017.

Q. Tell us something about yourself.
A. I was born in Thane and did my schooling from PR High School, Thane thereafter I did my B.A. in Marathi
from Joshi College. My father works in Thane Municipal Corporation. I have always been fond of acting and
have actively taken part in plays since my school days and was awarded the Balraj Sahni award for acting.

Pre–Primary has brought about several changes in education and has always been a pioneer in the field of
education. By now, it is a well–known fact that modern education at the Pre–primary level should be a two
way process, where the teacher and the taught should blend. The schools activities are child oriented, so that
they are allowed to explore, express and comprehend in a natural enjoyable manner.
Children were welcomed by the teachers with sweets and tilak, nursery children were made to do palm
printing as a memory for future, later this was given as token of love as takeaways.
Introduction of theme of summer
season in the assembly and class children were introduced
to wet and dry concept by wetting handkerchief and later
drying in the sun they also drew the sun and summer fruit
mango in the drawing book.
The aim was to provide them with an insight on
Vidhyashram kidz philosophy & teaching methodology and
its implementation and the role of parents as 'Partners-in-
Education' in the process. Headmistress Mrs. Neel kamal
Singh, addressed the parents and introduced the
functioning and the system of school. She emphasized that
parents should take care of the following points for the proper grooming and development of their children –
development of values, including healthy eating habits, spending quality time with children and punctuality.
Later it was continued by Dr. Mrs. Nihali Jain who updated the parents on Jolly Phonic and teaching
methodology.
Students took part in the lemon race in the morning hours and later they learned how to make lemonade in
the class and shared with their friends and the teachers.

Vidhyashram kidz play school
thv26 April 2017: "Yellow Day" Celebration
With an objective to recapitulate and reinforce the effects of yellow colour, Vidhyashram Kidz celebrated “Yellow
day”. A day dedicated to the yellow colour was marked with children dressed in different hues and tints of yellow.
Children were not only beautifully dressed in their favorite yellow dresses but also brought yellow objects to make
it a complete “Yellow Day”!

All the students went for a nature walk and they came to know
about the different kinds of trees, plants, flowers, birds and insects
around. And even they came to know about the different types of
colours of trees, plants, birds and insects.
rdv3 July 2017: Fun play paper boat in water
All the students made a paper boat with the help of teacher and
after making boat they dropped into the water they all enjoyed a
lot and learnt about water transport.

thStudents enjoyed a lot tearing different colour paper and sticking on the given picture. 13 July Rudra Puja-
our children witnessed the beautiful essence of shravan month with the beautiful puja done in the school.

'Red Colour Day' was celebrated in school, all children came
dressed up in red clothes and brought things, mostly of red colour.
Through this activity they learnt about the colour 'Red' and its
beauty. The children thoroughly enjoyed their practical learning
experience. Medals were given to the best dressed Red colour girls
and boys.

All the students watched movie of Krishna and they enjoyed a lot.
Parents were updated on the syllabus of UKG and how to teach and help their young ones at home while
studying.
The significance of each colour is reiterated whereby students and teachers dress according to the colour
celebrated on a particular day. To make the activity more inclusive, children brought different objects like
toys, decorative items and drawings based on the theme. The items were set on the table and decorated with
descriptive balloons. Students also participated in games and other interesting theme-based activities.

thv14 August 2017: Janamashtami Celebration
Janamashtami festival was celebrated with great zeal and pomp by kidz. Children came dressed in as
Krishna, Gwala, Radha and Gopiya. Class was decorated colourfully with Jhankis depicting the birth of Lord
Krishna and Krishna jhoola. Tiny tots enacted Krishna birth in a play. They also had 'matki phod' event to
mark the mischievous nature of 'Bal Gopal'.
thv4 August 2017: Raksha Bandhan Celebration
Rakhi was celebrated with mythological story telling
about the bond of love and promise to protect each other,
Girls tied Rakhi to their class boys, administrative staff
and in return they got gifts and sweets.
