Basic Heating Technology Know-How

With the Vitotrol remote control the following adjustments can be made:

 “normal room temperature“

 “reduced room temperature“

 domestic hot water temperature

 operating and holiday mode

heating cycles for space heating, domestic hot water production and the DHW

recirculation pump (if applicable)

 date and time

Except for “normal room temperature” adjustments, all adjustments are transferred

from the Vitotrol remote control to the Vitotronic control unit and vice versa.

Your latest adjustments are effective for your heating circuit.

For the adjustment of the domestic hot water temperature, your heating contractor

can alter codings accordingly - please contact your heating contractor.

The timer of the remote control will automatically switch between “normal room

temperature” and “reduced room temperature” at the preselected times.

1. Normal room temperature

for a comfortably warm living

environment (e.g. 68 ºF / 20 ºC).

2. Reduced room temperature

at nighttime or for the times you

spend away from home. To save

energy this room temperature is set

lower than the “normal room

temperature”.

At the time of delivery “frost

protection” is set to 37 ºF / 3 ºC.

You can select the time and duration of

the room temperature on your

programming unit.

The desired room temperature can be

selected for both “normal room

temperature” and for “reduced room

temperature”.

The timer of the remote control activates and deactivates domestic hot water

production at selected times (only for boiler with domestic hot water tank).

1. Domestic hot water production takes

place when you are at home and

require domestic hot water for your

everyday use (e.g. showering).

2. Domestic hot water production does

not take place

e.g. at nighttime

You can select the time and duration of

the room temperature on your

programming unit.

Desired temperature for domestic hot

water is adjustable up to 140 ºF / 60 ºC.

The domestic hot water recirculation

pump (if applicable) ensures short-term

availability of domestic hot water at

different draw-down locations.
