There have been some changes that we have trialed and we have also been successful in hosting various events at the club – before I go into the details I first want to pay thanks as it is the hard work of the clubs many volunteers that have made it a successful year. - The clubs reputation is widely recognised across the baseball community and something that we work hard on to preserve - It is also something that the Committee is very proud of as it continues to build on the clubs long standing reputation. - I want to thank the Committee volunteers for their continuous efforts. A lot of planning and coordination has been required this season and the support of key individuals in co-ordinating these events have made them the success that they were. - Grounds crew – the grounds this season have looked fantastic this season thanks to the hard work of our grounds crew and volunteers. - We also had a tremendous turn out during our “call to arms” for various events. Every little bit helps no matter how much or how little it might be – from helping out at working bee, to simply cleaning at the dugouts at the end of a game. - Sound – Thank you to Peter Arnouts and Glen long for their commentary. This always adds to the atmosphere on game day and also at special events. - Coaches – Special thanks to all our club coaches this season - All the support volunteers for scoring, everyone that assisted in umpiring and managing Grand Finals at PH We were also successful in holding the AAA and Majors GF at PH - This was an extremely successful event for the club - Very positive feedback on the set up, the people involvement, and the great atmosphere around the club - Raised over $3,000 in profit that will go to the terracing project that we have been trying to get completed for a couple of seasons Juniors at PH The club has very strong junior programme with a lot of talented players coming through the ranks. On behalf of the Committee I want to congratulate Jason Kilby on being signed with Cincinnati Reds. And also to our import player Chris Smith. These are great examples of the calibre of players we are able to draw to the club, and an indication of the pathways available for our junior players.
Grants – Batting cages and dugoutsThanks to the hard work of Graham Vankan, the club has been successful in securing a great to upgrade the batting cages- This will be an extremely valuable addition to the clubs facilities and allow some more flexibility around training in wet weather- The area will be roofed and resurfaced. There will be three lanes where the netting can be pulled back to make a larger training area- A last minute change in design is likely to see that the 3rd base dugouts can be extended as part of the work around the batting cages- We also have a separate grant in for developing the dugouts.

Junior ChampionshipsWe have also been successful in hosting:- Qld Schools 14 and under Champs 8-11 August- Inaugural U12 Met North baseball championships- Thank you to Jacqui for the hard work in preparing the
submission as well as the grant application to upgrade the junior scorers facilities, getting power to the fields etc
Club management proceduresWe have also been doing a lot of work around club management practices. This is to make it simpler and quicker for decision making, as well as having good handover to subsequent committees- This requires the club constitution to be updated to reflect
how the club will be structured and run in the future to make it more effective at the ground level
ABL and BanditsThe club has been approached by the ABL to host some Bandits games. The details - This represents a unique and exciting opportunity to
promote baseball and PH to a wider audience- Opens up great potential for sponsorship funds - Allow us to get much needed upgrades to club facilities,
upgrades that are still many years away if we have to rely on grants and donations.
CONCLUSIONWhile we are in the offseason there will still be a lot of activity at the club- Terracing in front of the canteen- Pulling down of the batting cages- Preparing the 3rd base dugouts- Upgrades and preparation for the School championships- General grounds maintenance
