step 2. We are going to fill the rectangle with black. Set your foreground to black in the tool bar. You may now click on “alt-option-delete” and the selection will fill in with black.

step 3. Click on the rounded rectangle tool (letter U on the keyboard). We will create the “holes” in the film strip now with this shape. In the tools options bar please set your radius to 30 pixels and begin to place your first shape on the canvas. Duplicate this first shape and place them into a folder. Continue to duplicate these until they

get all the way across the filmstrip.

Step 4. Once you have created the shapes and they are across the entire strip, duplicate the group and drag that new group to the bottom of the strip to create the two sets of holes for your filmstrip.

We need to merge these layers into on layer by highlighting all the layers, right click, and “merge layers”, please label this layer filmstrip.

Step 5. We will now create the area for where the picture will go. We are going to use the rectangle shape again but this time set your radius to 20 pixels and place them between to two smaller sets you have already created. Once you have placed them onto the canvas, merge all the layers into one and label it once again, filmstrip.

Step 9. Once all the pictures are placed into the shapes merge the layers again into one.

Click on “command-shift-J” on the keyboard. Now click on the original filmstrip layer and repeat this process with the next two panels, the last picture alone. You will end up with three layers like the example below:

Rename these layers as left, middle and right.

Step11. We need to duplicate these layers at this time. Once you have duplicated them, “hide” the eyeball so they are now hidden.
