The theme of the lesson : Clothes. Present continuous.

The aim of the lesson:

—  Educational — to repeat words: clothes names , repeat the present continuous and learn the grammar rule

—  Developmental  — to develop pupils’ speaking, reading skills, writing and listening skills

—  Pedagogical —  to increase pupils  interest to English

The type of the lesson:  Revision lessons.

Methods of the lesson: Demonstration, practical, oral, work with the dialogue.

Materials: Interactive board, pictures, cards, books

The lesson procudure

1. Warming — up2. a) Greeting

— Good morning pupils! I’m glad to see you. Sit down, please.— How are you?

3. b) Conversation with duty.4. —Who is on duty today?

— What day is it today?5. — What date is it today6. —What is the weather like today?7. — What is your favourite clothes?8. — What clothes you don’t like to wear?

Today at our lesson we’ll travel on our magic school bus. We’ll visit the following stations: phonetic station, lexical station, reading station, writing station, listening station, speaking station. Also we’ll meet a girl Nelly; she is going to buy clothes. Your task is to help Nelly to buy clothes and show your knowledge of English.

II. Phonetic – drill

But first we must train our tongues.

Let’s visit our first station and train the sound  [æ ]

Sam has a hat,

Sam has a black hat.

He has a black hat, in his hand.

— The second station is lexical

Put the letters in the correct order and guess what words are written here:

3) The third station is reading station:

Read the thank you letter and guess missing clothes. Dear Mother! Thank you for all presents. The brown a) ___________ is very nice. I’ll wear it to school when it’s cold. And the two b) __________ are fantastic. I’m playing football tomorrow, so I’ll wear the black one. And thank you for the c)_________ . I’m going to the party on Sunday. I’ll wear the one. It looks nice with my black trousers.

Make the dialogue. Open your notebooks and answer the questions

To put clothes into the correct column.

Divide children into two team: winter clothes and  summer clothes.

Use:  Present continuous tense. Work pairs

—I am wearing ………..

Open the brackets and put the verbs in the present continuous.

The water (to boil). Can you turn it off?

Lily is in Barcelona at the moment. She (to learn) Spanish.

Can you hear those people? What they (to talk) about?

What a good weather today. The sun (to shine) and we can go for a picnic. — Is it your brother at the shop? — No. my brother (to take) the exam at the moment.

Come on. We are already late. Everyone (to wait) for us.

Look, they (to try) to get the car started. But it seems that something is wrong.

 I (to visit) my doctor at 5 p.m. today.

I can’t stand such noise. Our neighbors (to have) a party and nobody is able to get to sleep.
