Further pressure shaft from surge shaft leads to an underground power house having 2 x 59 MW Pelton turbines. The tailrace tunnels of 96m and 93m length, viz; TRT-1 and TRT-2 respectively, will join to junction of the main TRT having a length of 443m discharging into the Mangdhechhu HPP reservoir at El. 1749.50m. The total gross head is 536.25m and the installed capacity of power house is 118 MW.

Rohtang Pass in the eastern Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas on the Leh-Manali Highway. A Horse shoe shaped with 8.8 km long and 10m finished dia. (5.5 mi) length will be one of the longest road tunnel in India. The tunnel is at 3,100 metres elevation whereas the Rohtang pass is at 3,978 metres elevation. The pass receives heavy snowfall and blizzards during winter months and is open for road traffic for only four months in a year. Year: 2011 To 2015Location: Himachal Pradesh, IndiaClient: HPPCLMain Project Features: Thana Plaun Hydro-electric Project (141 MW) and

Triveni Mahadev Hydro-electric Project (78MW) are two cascading hydropower projects proposed on Beas river in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Government of Himachal Pradesh has allocated these projects to Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (hereinafter called HPPCL) for their implementation and development. Consequently, HPPCL has taken up the project works including surveys & investigations and has engaged SMEC as their consultants to assess the Technical and Financial Feasibility of the Projects including ‘Preparation of Comprehensive and Bankable Detailed Project Reports for both the projects.These two cascading projects are downstream developments of Pandoh dam (Beas Satluj Link-990

Rupak SthapitMW) and located upstream of Pong Dam (360 MW) which are currently operated and maintained by Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB). As per the current development plan of river Beas, the river potential of 535m in a distance of approx. 150 kms between the Pandoh dam and Pong dam is proposed to be harnessed in a systematic development by implementing three cascading hydro-electric projects namely Thana Plaun HEP (141 MW) , Triveni Mahadev HEP (78 MW) and Dhaulasidh HEP (66 MW). Dhaulasidh HEP, located downstream of Triveni Mahadev HEP in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, is currently being investigated by SJVN Limited and is expected to go in for construction shortly. Thana Plaun HEP is currently envisaged as a storage scheme with 82.50m high Concrete Gravity Dam with an installed capacity of 141 MW comprising of 3 units of 47 MW each which will generate 367.50 GWh in 90% dependable year. Triveni Mahadev HEP is a run-of the river development with a 33m high Barrage and an installed capacity of 78 MW comprising of 2 units of 39 MW each which will generate 203.88 GWh in 90% dependable year.

Two pressure shafts taking off from the Surge tank bifurcate into four penstocks to feed an underground power house having four Francis turbine units, each of 62.5 MW capacity. The underground power house is located near the village Lata, about 15 kms down-stream of Tamak.
