Clap an artworkTake a good look at the picture and discuss what mood you think the artwork describes. When you have discussed this, use your hands to clap a sound that matches that exact mood.

Automatic drawingIn an automatic drawing, you let the pencil draw freely on the paper. You don't need to think of what you draw; you simply let your imagination decide. The artist Asger Jorn made many automatic drawings. He closed his eyes, and without looking, without thinking, without lifting the pencil, he drew on the paper. When he opened his eyes afterwards, there were lots of doodles in the drawing, in which he saw figures and imaginary beings!

How to make an automatic drawing1. Grab a pencil. You now have to make an

automatic drawing – a drawing that you make entirely without looking at it while you draw.

2. Get someone to help you time it. You have 10 seconds.

3. Close your eyes, or look at a point straight ahead. It's important that you don't look at your drawing.

4. After 10 seconds, you're allowed to look at your automatic drawing. Take a close look!

5. Do you recognise your movements in the drawing?

6. Is there anything in your drawing that looks like something you might recognise?

7. Help others play, so that they can also make an automatic drawing while you time them.

Look at your drawings, and discuss them.

Play with film and movementTake a close look at the 12-different people; study their facial expressions and their body language. Have a go at walking exactly the way you think each of the 12 people walks!

”O” Space is a factory by Aarhus Harbour, where you can experience a great variety of exhibitions, installations and art films throughout 2017, including the film 'Manifesto' by Julian Rosenfeldt, from which this picture is taken.12. and red track on the map

Do you know the old game 'Kluddermor'? (It's a bit like 'All Tangled Up'.) Everybody, except one person, joins hands and holds on tight. Then you tangle yourselves up as much as possible, while still holding on firmly to each other's hands. And then you call for Kluddermor (Tangle Mum), who has to untangle everybody – without anybody letting go of any hands! It's hilarious, and you take turns to be Kluddermor.

The artwork is called: 'Hesitation of Light', and it takes its name from the discovery in 1675 by Aarhus astronomer Ole Rømer that light hesitates.5. and blue track on the map

Write about the mood that you think the artwork describes, and draw it!

Mood:

Song Dong is a Chinese artist who works with sculpture, installations, performance, photography and video. He is preoccupied with, for instance, the relationship with his family and their experience of living in modern-day China, including the way everything changes so fast.8 and blue track on the map

Play with biscuitsIn August, Song Dong will build an edible model of Aarhus from biscuits, and then he will invite lots of people to discuss good ideas – and you're allowed to eat the city model! Discuss what your dream place would look like. Build it from biscuits, and invite your friends for a discussion about ideas for a dream place.Finish by eating your model. Icing is excellent 'glue' when you build with biscuits!

My PlaygroundMy Playground is an entirely new proposal for playscapes for the future, and it is all about:

● Exploring● Having a go● Challenging yourself● Being with others

A place with smiles, energy, joy and creativity.

In Denmark, we have a strong tradition for playing, using our imagination, our bodies and our senses. You're allowed to run around and have fun with different forms of play equipment at different playgrounds. My Playground is a collaboration between European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017 and the Aarhus-based architectural firm Gustin. My Playgrond is supported by Nordea Fonden
