PER CAPITA ENVELOPES Enclosed in each box of offering envelopes is an envelope entitled “Per Capita.” The per capita

for 2020 is $38.25 per confirmed young person and adult member. This is a $0.25 increase from

last year.

Per Capita is a “per member” mission commitment to support the worship, education,

mission and ministry of the whole Presbyterian Church (USA).

In 2020 West Granville will pay approximately

$9,100 in per capita. West Granville typically collects $4,000 in per capita designated offering

and must make up the difference from our operating budget. In 2020 we are making a

special encouragement for members to support our per capita obligation.

When members are paying their per capita in

2020, please add a note to the check or envelope indicating that it is a per capita

donation. This allows the donation to be recorded properly in the church finance system.

Thank you!

LEAVE A LEGACY

West Granville is grateful for those who have

given and plan to give a Legacy Gift to the

church. Legacy Gifts have enabled us to tackle

capital projects of lasting value for the

congregation. The leverage value of these Legacy Gifts has often made the

difficult possible.

Some Legacy Gifts have gone to our

endowment. Annually we use 4% of our endowment to enrich support for our

operating budget. This often makes a difference in sustaining a critical

program. These are called Pledge Replacement Gifts.

Your Legacy Gift of any amount can make a big difference. There are always special projects we

need to accomplish that do not fit the budget at a particular time. Legacy Gifts are a valuable

part of our mission and ministry.

Remember you can also request that

the West Granville Memorial Fund be

listed as a recipient of your Memorial Donations. Let your children know in

advance of your request. It is a powerful way to honor your life witness. Many

times I find that children are not aware

of the Memorial Fund. They are often pleased to be able to celebrate their

loved one’s spirit through this designation.

IRA gifts may be made directly to the

church from your IRA, avoiding taxes.

CHRISTMAS POINSETTIA VISITS Each year at Christmas time we make a visit to each of the folks in church who are

homebound or have health struggles as well as those who we just thought might need a Symbol

of Hope. Even though these folks may not be

able to physically be with us on a Sunday morning, we remember that they are knit in

prayer with us each Sunday.

Homebound Flower & Card Ministry

their glory! Don’t we make it look easy? Because it’s not that hard! [Secret – you don’t even have

Dear Christian Friends, Thank you for your continuing help with

supplying food to the food pantry during 2019. Without your support we would not be able to serve all the people in our area who need help. We serve 5 zip codes and over 200-250 families per month. A very Blessed Christmas to all. ~ St. Peter-Immanuel Food Pantry

Christ comes with joy “Jesus comes once again this year to awaken in us the hunger and thirst for his Kingdom here

on earth… He comes to give us salvation, healing, and wholeness through the

transformation of our hearts and minds.

“Even the premature, prepackaged, predictable, piped-in music cannot ruin the joy

of God’s heart. For Jesus is the joy of His heart. “He has come and is knocking on the door of

every human heart. And the Holy Spirit’s joy is the great transformer of hearts and minds.

“There is nothing in heaven or on earth quite

so contagious or healing as a child’s laughter and delight. And there is not a child in heaven

or on earth who hears the story of the baby Jesus, with or without the tinsel and the

twinkling lights, and doesn’t say, ‘Whoopee!’

“So I say: Let’s celebrate!” ~ Rev. Andrew Kline, Christ Church, Denver, CO In The Anglican Digest Reprinted from JoyfulNoiseletter, Dec. 2010

“Modern psychology has a word – maladjusted

– that it uses probably more than any other. I say to you, there are certain things within our

social order to which I am proud to be

maladjusted and to which I call upon all men of good will to be maladjusted.

“I never did intend to adjust to the evils of segregation and discrimination; to religious

bigotry; to economic conditions that take

necessities from the many and give luxuries to the few; to the self-defeating effects of physical

violence. “Human salvation lies in the hands of the

creatively maladjusted.” ~ Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King
