VIGILANCE AWARENESSWEEK 2015 Vigilance Awareness Week - 2015 was observed in RWF from 26th October 2015 to 31 st October 2015 as directed by Railway Board. Following Programmes were organised during the week. PLEDGE & GENERAL AWARENESS Banners and Posters with anti corruption messages were displayed at prominent places of the Plant, Administrative building and residential colonies of RWF. Pledge was administered to the Officers and Staff on 26.10.2015 at 11.00 hrs near Administrative portico, by GM, RWF. VIGILANCE AWARENESSWEEK 2015

Vigilance Awareness Week - 2015 was observed in RWF from 26th October 2015 to 31st October 2015 as directed by Railway Board. Following Programmes were organised during the week. PLEDGE & GENERAL AWARENESS

Banners and Posters with anti corruption messages were displayed at prominent places of the Plant, Administrative building and residential colonies of RWF. Pledge was administered to the Officers and Staff on 26.10.2015 at 11.00 hrs near Administrative portico, by GM, RWF.

A Street play called “Satyameva Jayate” conveying the evils of corruption in society was performed by RWF employees near the Administrative Building for officers/employees in the morning and the same was re-enacted at Dairy circle in the evening for public on 26.10.2015.

ESSAY COMPETITION

An essay competition was conducted for RWF employees on 26.10.2015.

Essay Competition QUIZ COMPETITION

A Quiz focussing on Departmental rules and regulations was organized during the Vigilance Awareness Week to motivate the employees to enhance their knowledge of departmental rules and procedures. The Final round including a special buzzer round, audio round, visual round and rapid fire round, on the lines of popular TV quiz programmes, was conducted on 27.10.2015. The quiz generated a lot of enthusiastic response from the staff and participants.

LECTURE ON “CYBER CRIMES AND THE NEED FOR VIGILANCE”

A lecture on “Cyber Crimes and the need for vigilance” was arranged on 28.10.2015. The talk was delivered by Shri M.D. Sharat, DSP/Cyber Crime, CID,Bangalore. During the course of talk, the speaker cited from his experience, recent cases and in what way the same could be avoided. The lecture was useful and interesting.

LECTURE ON “CBI’S ROLE IN COMBATING CORRUPTION”

On 29.10.2015,, a lecture on “CBI’s role in combating corruption” by Shri B.L. Singhad, Retd. Assistant Director (IB), PAIRVI Officer/CBI, Bangalore was arranged for the benefits of officers and staff of RWF. The lecturer narrated the causes of corruption and CBI’s role in curbing the same. He also shared his experience about some important cases dealt by him. He cautioned people to be careful in discharging their duties without expecting any favour. The talk was informative and useful.

LECTURE ON “PREVENTIVE VIGILANE AS A TOOL OF GOOD GOVERNANCE”

On 30.10.2015, a lecture on “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of good governance”, by Shri Narasimha Rao, Sr. Technical Director, National Informatics Centre, Karnataka Circle, Bangalore was organised for the benefit of officers and staff of RWF. The speaker highlighted the role of Vigilance in curbing corruption. The talk focussed on the various initiatives of National Informatics Centre in bringing transparency in Governance. The speaker also covered various aspects like Digital India, Jeevan Pranam and Aadhar linked bio-metric attendance.

DEBATE, ESSAY, CARTOON AND SLOGAN COMPETITIONS

Debate,essay, cartoon and slogan competitions were conducted amongst students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rail Wheel Factory and Jnanajyothi School, Yelahanka on the subject “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of good governance” during the week. The response from the students and teachers was very encouraging.

VALEDICTORY FUNCTION

The valedictory function was organized on 31.10.2015 to mark the completion of Vigilance Awareness Week - 2015. Shri Pankaj Kumar, Chief Mechanical Engineer, RWF was the chief guest who graced the occasion. The Chief Mechanical Engineer and Chief Vigilance Officer gave away prizes to Students who were the winners of debate, slogan, cartoon and essay competitions and winners of quiz competition. Finally, Chief Vigilance Officer and Chief Mechanical Engineer addressed the gathering.

Prize distribution to the winners of debate, essay,cartoon & slogan competitions & KV teachers

On the occasion, RWF’s “Vigilance Bulletin – 2015” was released by the Chief Mechanical Engineer and the first copy of the same was received by Chief Vigilance Officer/RWF.

With the valedictory function, observance of Vigilance Awareness Week – 2015 came to end on 31.12.2015. The fight against corruption, however continues unabated..
