    V I G I L EOPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTThe naval electronic environment is becomingdenser and more complex, the emitters more andmore difficult to detect, analyse, locate andidentify.

    Today's ESM systems have to deal with the multipleand complex characteristics of modern radar signals:

    multi-mode emitters,

    low Effective Radiated Power (ERP),

    agility (frequency, pulse repetition ...),

    high pulse repetition mode (pulse doppleremitters),

    complex scan,

    fleeting emissions and other LPI characteristics.

    As a primary sensor, VIGILE is the key componentof the EW suite. It is fully integrated in the CombatSystem and participates to situation awareness,self protection and ELINT(Fine Grain Analysis).In multi-ship, network-enabled operations itis a major contributor to enhanced operationalawareness.
