The Trans-European Network (TEN) is guided by the:

• TEN Regulation: Regulation (EC) No 680/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2007 laying down general rules for the granting of Community financial aid in the field of the trans-European transport and energy networks

• TEN-T Guidelines: Decision 1692/96/EC on Community guidelines for the development of the trans-European transport network (as last amended by Decision 884/2004/EC)

Maximum Volume of Aid I

• For studies, 50% of eligible cost

• For works:– For priority projects, 20%– For cross-border sections on priority projects,

30%– For other projects, 10%

• For ERTMS:– For trackside equipment, 50% for studies and

works– For on-board equipment,

• 50% of development and manufacture costs of prototypes for retrofitting, subject to dual certification

• 50% of cost of series equipment for installation, with a ceiling on aid per traction unit

Other Funding

• EIB funding is compatible with funding under the TEN-T programme

• Commission to ensure non-cumulation of other EU funds with TEN-T funds

Work Programmes

• 80-85% of budget goes to Multi-Annual Work Programme (MWP)

• MWP covers priority projects and traffic management systems

• Annual Work Programme (AWP) funds projects of common interest not included in the MWP
