Rain Water Harvesting Rainwater harvesting is a technique used for collecting and storing rainwater by using various means in different resources for the future use purpose like cultivation. Rainwater can be collected into the natural reservoirs or artificial tanks. Another method of collection is infiltration of surface water into the subsurface aquifers before getting lost by surface overflow. Rooftop harvesting is also a method to collect rainwater. It is of big importance to the people living in the less rainfall areas. They can continue seasonal crop harvesting using collected rain water even in the lack of regular water supply. Whenever it rains, rainwater gets collected into the manmade ponds or tanks.

Family farmers produce most of the food consumed in developing nations and use over 80% of the land in Asia and Africa. The concept of family farming covers various elements. From a sociological perspective, family farming is associated with family values such as solidarity, continuity and commitment. In economic terms, family farming is identified with specific entrepreneurial skills, business ownership and management choice and risk behaviour,


resilience and individual behaviour. Family farming is often more than a professional occupation because it reflects a lifestyle based on beliefs and traditions, living and work.

Sensor Technology for Food and Beverages Control Sensors designed for the detection and identification of contaminants in food quality and food safety applications are used throughout the food manufacturing process. The detection sensors capabilities are often used "in-line" and are integrated directly into existing manufacturing lines or as part of "stand-alone" devices contained in rapid and portable detectors. Common applications of detection sensor capabilities in the food manufacturing process include process monitoring, shelf-life investigation, freshness evaluation, authenticity assessment and other quality control studies. Novel food sensors play a significant role in the detection and identification of contaminants during the food manufacturing processes. Electronic Food Sensors can also help scientists develop new methods for keeping consistency of the aroma and flavour of products, as well as exploring ingredients to mask undesirable aromas. Advantages of food sensors include real-time analysis, high sensitivity, reproducibility, selectivity and mobility, low cost-of-ownership and gradual replacement and/or parallel use to complex and cumbersome analytical laboratory instruments
