I hope you all are keeping well and keeping away from the various winter bugs and lurgies floating around. We are getting close to Opening Night of Honour and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a great script, by an Australian author on a very topical issue, which I’m sure will generate a lot of discussion. Don’t miss it! And now is the time to volunteer for Front of House or Box Office. We just need a couple of hours of your time for just 1 performance. That’s right just 1 performance! Then we won’t have to bother you again! It’s a great way to meet our subscribers and other theatre-goers and you’d be giving back to the group. Details further down See you all at Honour! Once again we had a stall with a colourful display of posters and photos of past productions, and did a big promotion on “Honour”. The local community was very keen to know when we will be coming back to the Seven Hills Theatre, so they can give us their support again. There was such a great amount of interest in our display, that we ran a raffle for a double pass to opening night of “Honour”. We also participated in the parade, and the big hit was Ms Liz, Moley,

Small in scale but big on emotion, Honour looks at the lives of four people involved in the break-up of a 32-year-long marriage. It is an examination of what can happen when passion intrudes on a long-term, comfortable relationship. The Villanova Players are delighted to welcome seasoned actors Meg Hinselwood and Richard Yaxley to our stage as the couple, with Olivia Pinwill as the journalist Claudia and Issy Mowen as daughter Sophie.

Trivia Whiz, Leo Bradley, quizzed the teams in some enthusiastic brain challenges as we worked our way through our theatre knowledge of the Ancient Greek and more recent styles and periods, as well as Charades. The most difficult charade of the night was “Anne of Green Gables”. Yes, think how you would charade that one.
This Month at the Meeting
Casting Committee will present readings from some of the plays under discussion for future production. Members may be called on to participate, if you wish.
Clearview Urban Village – Theatre Update
Discussions are continuing with Council as they move through the procurement and handover process. This is a very long and detailed process, which will unfortunately not see us back in our Theatre until sometime in 2018. Watch this space for updates!
